Solo. Flat, grassy summit on the way up to Carn an Fhidhleir.Dangerous Dave15/07/2021
I made the long walk in from Blair Atholl to the Falls of Tarf and then ascended Coire na Creige (771m) which was a pathless boggy climb. Then I walked the ridge to the official summit at Braigh Coire Caochan nan Laogh (743m). I was glad the summit wasn't the cairn shown on the OS map as this saved some time! Then along the ridge to Carn Greannach (882m), Druim Sgarsoch (954m) and the main summit of An Sgarsoch (1006m). Then was the difficult bit as next was the second munro, Carn an Fhidhleir (994m). This had looked a big drop on the map but wasn't quite as bad as I feared. I then followed the rivers down to the Tilt valley and then the long walk back. The 61km walk took 17 hours and it was a personal achievement to do it as a single day walk. Cloud free summits.meltdiceburg11/07/2021

Bike in from Lin of Dee - good track to White bridge, then good further half mile, after which very rough. Impossible to bike for me most of time - should have left bike at first building after White Bridge and walked the rest. Also four fords knee deep to cross (with bike!)carole engel06/07/2020

From Sron Gharbh. Some minor peat at the col but mostly great walking on short vegetation. Back out to Linn of Dee via the parent Munro. Total distance walked 66km. I was out for just over 16hrs and didn't meet a single person all day!Lindsay M23/08/2015

Spectacular day, staying with Dants n' Jeff in Invereye. Solo cycle in initially then south through deep heather,Sgarsoch Beag 11.20 then summit view from An Sgarsoch just amazing, much clearwer than previous days, 70/80 miles away. Fascinating sculptural cairnwith high single rocks stack on top. 1.00pm Carn an Fhidhleir se top, 1.25 Carn an Fhidleir, 20.07 Carn Meall Tionail. Tiresome slog over peat hags n deep heather to end of track at 925857 at 3.35. Back to Geldie Lodge ruin 4.30 bike back to car at 5.42. Mad dash to get the bike back to the hirers in Braemarvegibagger29/10/1997
Cairngorm Club overnight meet. Came up Glen Feshie the day before and bivvied beside broken down hut at NN906885. I set off at 05:50 to Carn an Fhidhleir or Carn Ealar. Reached the summit in mist. Navigated by compass to An Sgarsoch continuing over deleted top. Descended eastwards and then kept to east bank of Bynack Burn past Bynach Lodge due to burn in spate. Kept on the east side of Geldie Burn and south side of the Dee to reach Muir Cottage at 15:20. No rain since starting at 05:50! I seemed to be the only one to have enjoyed themselves – much tales of rain and wind and woe. Barbecue – 25 yrs anniversary of opening of extension to Muir Hut. 110 yrs of the club.pwbellarby22/06/1997

With Martin66 & Davy Bell from Linn Of Dee on a bright but windy day. Biked in to Geldie Lodge & then walked due S over pt 754 to the E top of An Sgarsoch & then the main summit itself. Continued round to Carn an Fhidhleir. Continued N for a short distance & then dropped into the grassy corrie. Found the path leading back to Geldie Lodge eventually which made things easier & backed back out.NotReallyABagger26/05/1991

With Jonathan Bellarby Cairngorm Club meet, which was a traverse from Achlean to Linn of Dee. We went through Glen Feshie to Carn an Fhidhleir, An Sgarsoch, and Druim Sgarsoch, descending via Geldie Lodge and White Bridge to Linn of Dee. A few brief showers. Misty on top of An Sgarsoch, but otherwise clear. Several buzzards were seen.pwbellarby22/08/1982
