Road on west side of Thirlmere is closed so parked at car park near southern end, up the road then up the bridleway and di a circuit of Watendlath Fell, Shivery Knott, Middle Crag, Armboth Fell x 2 and Fisher Crag.clivevilla08/10/2023
An excellent day to pick up 5 Birketts and a Fellranger from Armboth car park. Up the good path to High Tove, then very easy (though wet) along the fence to Middle Crag, Shivery Knott and Watendlath Fell. Armboth Fell easy to locate, also Fisher Crag with access over forest fence. Easy descent by forest track.BURGESS09/07/2023

13 Birkets after 4 weeks no rain - bone dry apart from (thankfully) a few springs. Road all closed off, so a bit of a trudge along the road after Fisher Crag back to start at Steel End carpark. Hd hoped to drop off bike at descent point to road.Dave Sargent13/06/2023

Walked down from High Tove with Alfie. The driest April on record meant that I kept dry boots!Dangerous Dave01/05/2021
Along the east fence path from Bell Crags. Continued to Armboth Fell. Dry conditions, nothing more than small wet patches that could usually be jumped.Nick Caunt19/04/2021
Set off from Armboth car park, High Tove, Middle Crag, Shivery Knott, Armboth (Wainwright top) Armboth (Birkett) and Fisher Crag. Reasonable day out, not as wet as expected, took wellies but they never left the rucksack, good views all round, 17 Wainwrights to go.Mark T19/07/2020

A great run out on the fells. Started from Keswick in glorious sunshine and this remained throughout. Dry underfoot pretty much and not as bad as I expected. The peaks were also pretty busy, people had clearly decided to try and bag these peaks in drier conditions. Great fun. Solo run circuit of 8 Birketts in afternoon - a 3 hour 'escape to the hills' run having spent morning in Ambleside YH writing an essay on classroom management as doing my PGCE year. From Thirlmere I climbed out of the gloom to Fisher Crag to a cloud inversion -very special. Rough and swampy but so good to be out with fun navigating the best line between the tops.Chris Pearson05/01/2002
