Climbed along with Bell Crags to the West. | chriswatson | 05/03/2024 |
A rather boggy circuit from Steel Fell car park (road to Dobgill still closed). Up past Harrop Tarn, then wet and brackeny along edge of forest to Brown Rigg. Hard pull over Blea Tarn Fell, then easier to Standing Crag and High Saddle. Hit Wythburn Fell spot on with the GPS and easy descent. Added 5 Birketts and a Fellranger. | BURGESS | 06/07/2023 |
13 Birkets after 4 weeks no rain - bone dry apart from (thankfully) a few springs. Road all closed off, so a bit of a trudge along the road after Fisher Crag back to start at Steel End carpark. Hd hoped to drop off bike at descent point to road. | Dave Sargent | 13/06/2023 |
Starting from Watendlath, track to High Tove, Middle Crag, Armboth Fell 480 and Armboth Fell 475, then to Brown Rigg, Bell Crags and Standing Crags. Then return back, wet underfoot | matty1971b | 01/05/2023 |

Parked at Watendlath for a circuit around Bleatarn Gill over 11 summits. 5/11 | PGCE | 15/11/2021 |
1/4 Parked Dob Gill cp, up north edge of the plantation direct to summit of Brown Rigg, contoured round plantation to pick up the path back down to Harrop Tarn, from where over to Birk Crag and up to Wythburn Fell. Then contour/climbing along this pretty ridge almost to Greenup Edge, dropping down steep slopes of Greenhow Crags (just to South of the crags) onto Middle How which felt tiny. Hard to realise it is only 100 metres lower than Wythburn Fell. Lovely evening walk back down the Wythburn valley to the reservoir and walk along the reservoir edge to car. 4.5 hours. A good 'mop up' walk for hills missed on other rounds. | nickywood1 | 31/08/2021 |
