With Northern Hills. Grey, wet day. | deurgar | 19/12/2028 |
Heavy showers on ascent, strong cold wind on top, but steadily cleared; warm sunshine and views of Schiehallion as I returned to the car! 3h 15m up and down. | NorfolkPT21 | 25/09/2023 |
Solo on an overcast dry day with low cloud on the top. There and back walk following the WH route. 8k, 606m ascent/ descent and 2 hours. | alexmaclennan | 27/08/2023 |
Followed the WH route from the high point of the road, and as the weather improved a bit, did the whole circuit. Some nice views ass the rain eased and the cloud broke up. 11.75km 3h 25 | Rockdoctor | 26/08/2023 |
Small layby on B846 at 697589 gives easy access from the road junction to the good track coming up from the South. Skirt round the eastern side of Drumglas to reach the bottom of the track. | 49pp | 06/06/2023 |
3 of 4: From Carn Fiaclach. With Karen. | ChrisR | 15/05/2023 |
From Meall nan Eun | KeithByTheC | 25/04/2023 |
Joan, Janice, Heather and me. Nice ridge from the north. | Play2End | 01/04/2023 |
From east parking just below bothy. Up the path track then through the heath via grassy area (bracken in summer). Via Sim first past frozen Loch na Caillaich and then to summit trig and large cairn. Snow patches. | N.Morters | 28/01/2023 |
Solo from parking spot on A847 - drizzle with low cloud all morning so no views above 500m. There wasn't much worth stopping for, so I tapped the summit cairn (& trig) and immediately descended the same way - 2h 27min total time. | mproudfoot | 05/11/2022 |
Parked at NN707617 and up to Loch na Caillich (easy at first, heather-bashing later), Meall nan Eun, summit. Then SW to path down to Drumglas, back up road c150m re-ascent. Very hot and sunny at first, raining and cold at end. | Rounsfell | 01/08/2022 |
From Walkhighlands' start point on A847, returned same way. Great views from summit. 2 hours up, 90 mins down. | Crib Goch | 31/07/2022 |
With Dave. Not a bad day. Some snow on the top. Mostly sunny. | mike__riley | 05/03/2022 |
Climbed with Jon.

Reasonably good weather day | amcculloch | 15/01/2022 |
With John. Cloudy at first but cleared to blue sky and sunshine. Started down the road and up by the stalkers path. Meadow pipits and a lapwing. Stunning views to glencoe, the Ben ?, Ben alder and where we were last month. Pathless way back, and fought with bracken which had apparently been sprayed. 😳 | Veryhappybunny | 25/07/2021 |
From a cleared area by the B 846,sufficient to park 2-3 cars, at NN 69682 58909. Took the grassy track up towards Drumglas, diverting over a fence (barbed, but easy) to ascend under a pylon to reach the wide stony track up the hill. This became a stalker's path beyond a gate, faint further up, till it joined an ATV track. Before crossing a burn I continued NNE, gaining the south ridge by a grassy corrie about 300m south of the huge summit cairn. Return by outward route. 10.1km, with 715m of ascent. Solo. | Man of Kernow1 | 17/07/2021 |
Circuit from Kinloch Rannoch | thekirkie pirate | 08/07/2021 |
From Kinloch Rannoch with Rod and Grant up track then over bridge to col under Tom Cruinn. Up over Meall Breac to cross stalkers path then on to summit. Returned by strange topography under Carn Fiaclach. Stayed dry all day though misty. | SS | 09/06/2021 |

with Tam, first snow day of the season | TamCollie | 22/11/2020 |
Straight up from the B847 to the east at point 313. From Coire Odhar headed west, then turned right to the summit. Pathless but not too bad, bracken to about 400m but not too deep or thick, then mostly reasonably short heather. Dry weather helped. | Owen B | 25/09/2020 |
Took the track/path from Drumglas, which provides a steady altitude gain without recourse to heather and bracken trampling. Once due west of Beinn a' Chuallaich it was a simple matter of scampering to the summit, for spectacular 360 degree views. Along the broad ridge to Meall nan Eun, then down to the western shore of Loch na Caillich, looking gloriously blue in the bright, bright sunshine. A quick spurt to Meall na Moine, then an eastward descent linking dried up burns and short grass sections to the stalkers path to the B847. Another superb summer saunter. Even the walk back to the car was lovely in these trafficless times. | summitter | 31/05/2020 |
With Northern Hills. Grey, wet day. | deurgar | 28/12/2019 |

Beinn a'Chuallaich the hard way! From Kinloch Rannoch, via Craig Varr (nice views) and Meall Breac, and a circuit via Carn Fiaclach. There are bits of path in places, but also a lot of rough stuff. Splendid views all day. | Gill | 06/05/2016 |
An anti-clockwise circuit of Beinn a'Chuallaich from the B847. With Nathan. | MorecambeMonkey | 07/03/2016 |
Parked at the road junction near Dunalastair Water and headed north following the marked track and ridge to summit. There's a huge cairn with the trig nearby. The views were stupendous from the Gorms in the north to Ben Cruachan in the south. Absolutely magic day. | BigJ | 09/07/2015 |
Good day excellent views. | Nozzer | 09/07/2015 |

13th – Solo. From Kinloch Rannoch, following a 'natural' clockwise circuit of the higher ground above the village taking in the summit (i.e. take path following Allt Mor, follow ridge named Carn Fiaclach). A few light showers, cloud base down to 600m. | RGibbs | 23/04/2014 |

2nd ascent, with M. | douglas_easton | 07/05/2013 |
From a forest gate on B847 road to Trinafour at NN702602 where Anne painted a picture of Schiehallion Solo walk. I walked up the road towards Trinafour before heading up a track shown on my map as going through the forest almost to the NW edge. Climbing over a fallen trees and a fence to get out of the forest. Then SW before joining the SSE ridge of Beinn a’ Chuallaich, which was ascended to the summit, where there is a large cairn situated 20m SSE of the trig point. OS 1:50,000 map gives height as 891 (892) so the first figure must relate to the trig point and the second to the cairn. My approach route to the SSE was not the best of routes! I continued to Meall nan Eun and Meall na Moine. | pwbellarby | 20/04/2013 |
Second round ascent. | pwbellarby 2nd | 20/04/2013 |
