Solo, from Dalnacardoch on MTB. Round of Loch an Duin.John Lee09/11/2019
Climbed with Richard on the way back from Aviemore after a great week at Elphin, Ullapool, Aviemore. Nice weather and great visibility with the exception of a couple of brief showers.amcculloch21/06/2019
Day 1 of a 2 day round with a night in the bivi bag SW of An Dun summit. 12.00 start due to biking round from Glen Feishie where I had been camping,. Set up tent close to river west of Gaick Lodge and then Sgor Dearg(Ct); Boghe-cloiche(Ct); A Mhorconaich(Ct); Meall Odhar Mor(Ct); Creag an Dubh(Ct): Brutach na Craiobhe(Ct); both tops of An Dun (C).dickscroop29/06/2018
A superb hill. Biked in, and then slunk round to the west ridge, since the south ridge was a bit snowed up and looked a bit too tricky wearing trainers (mountain rescue police anyone?). Over the top and down the north east ridge (somewhat steep), across the river (easy) and up A'Chaoirnich by the grassy wedge opposite the footbridge (steeper still). Nice stroll over the plateau, and back to the bike for a quick blast down the hill. Proper mountains - steep and interesting.Gill28/04/2017
With M. Cycle in to loch to do these two Corbetts (separately). Cycling easier than previous day, except for steep start. An Dun quite steep! Some snow to negotiate near the top.douglas_easton28/04/2017
After a bike ride from Dalnacardoch, solo. Also went up Maol Creag an Loch. 5.5 hours for the whole trip.Phreerunner09/04/2017

Overnight circuit from Dalnacardoch. Followed track most of way to An Dun, but ford not possible to cross so took rough route to reach small dam and cross to climb S via S ridge of An Dun and visit both tops, camped at base of ridge. Light snowfall overnight then climbed Meall na Spianaig, A' Chaoirnich, the two possible tops of Bruthach na Creagan, returning S to climb Sron Odhar and rough traverse across lower section of Glas Choire and over broad ridge to Edendon Water and track of ascent route. Some sunshine and light covering of snow on tops on day 2.RobertP26/03/2016

Circuit from Sronphadruig Lodge after bike in.jimbloomer01/06/2013
Epic day. Cycled up Glen Tromie to Gaick lodge. Walked up to beyond south end of Loch an Duin & up south ridge of An Dun. Over both tops & down to north end of Loch an Duin. Then up horrendously steep western flank of A'Chaornich. Off north ridge back to Gaick Lodge. Got almost back to van & realised boots had fallen off back of bike. Cycled back nearly to Gaick Lodge to get them. 36 miles of cycling. 12 miles of walking & 3,000ft of ascent. Almost too exhausted to lift bike onto rack on van when I finally got back.ngthack11/05/2013

Cairngorm Club weekend meet based at Newtonmore. Alone. From Dalnacardoch Lodge following the Gaick Pass to near Sronphadruig Lodge. Ascended to the summit of Craig an Loch*. There is a medium sized cairn at the grid reference given in Munro's tables, 1974 edition, but the real summit is further north where there are two or three stones only to mark the spot. I descended to NW and crossed Allt Loch an Dùin by a bridge. Hence up NNE ridge to summit of An Dùn**. Descended to S to join Gaick Pass route back to starting point. Notes added in 2016: *1981 edition of Munro’s Tables has position of top changed to the highest point. 1990 revision of Tables has name changed to Maol Creag an Loch. Now called A’ Chaoirnich. **There are two summits on An Dùn, both of height 827m. Currently the north summit is given as the Marilyn and the south summit as the Corbett. Note added in 2017: DBIH now gives the south summit of An Dun as the Marilyn as well as the Corbett.pwbellarby07/03/1993
