Langie Mar Lodge meet, with Steven, Niall, Inma & Elliot.Grinner-Munros217/02/2024
After a morning of torrential rain; I set off at lunchtime from Inverey car park. As there was shooting on I had a quick chat and they said they were finished for the day so I headed up the good track and then up Carn Nan Seileach. After the track ended it was very boggy for a bit before the ascent to Carn Bhac. Visited all 3 cairns views were intermittent. Descent vis Grouse Butts to Altanour and back through lovely Glen Ey. I was too late starting to get to the other Munro. Walked whole way time 5 hours 15 minutes for 14.5 miles.isabelle04/10/2023

From Inverey, cycled along track to Auchelie, walked up track on ridge over Carn nan Seileach to track end, then directly up to summit of Carn Creagach, descended on intermittent track to col with Carn Bhac, and up to summit, returned to col, contoured around W side of Carn Creagach to rejoin outward track back to Auchelie, thence to Inverey (5hr)kdbennett31/12/2021
Solo Beinn Iutharn Mhòr and Càrn Bhac from Inverey. Used the mtb as far as Altanour Lodge (just under 6mi, 200m ascent, ~50mins), then anti-clockwise route on foot - reached cloud-covered summit of Carn Bhac 1h 20m later. 1h 50m later reached (also cloud-covered) summit of Beinn Iutharn Mhòr (after a not-terribly pleasant ascent up loose rock). Steep descent back from 850m back down to around 650m (with great views over Glen Ey, now I was under the cloud)and then a often-disappearing path through the heather back over to the lodge. 4h 25min total time on foot. 35min ride back to Inverey resulting in a total car-to-car time of 5h 55min.mproudfoot25/09/2021

A good round from Inverey. Altanour to Carn Bhac, track then path; easy strolling on grass, short heather, stones and bits of ATV track along the ridges to Carn a' Bhutha, Geal Charn, and Geal Charn NE top, then Carn Liath via ATV track, then good path from top to join shooting track down Allt Cristie Beag back to Inverey. Fine views on a sunny day.Gill225/04/2021

I met Nicky Creadland at Inverey west of Braemar, to get the Munro of Carn Bhac (946m) and the adjacent Munro Top (920m). We biked up Glen Ey to the ruins of Altanour Lodge, but Nicky’s bike chain broke just before the ruins. There was low cloud from around 800m, with no views until we were descending from the Munro Top. The return route back down Glen Ey, was actually quite fast as Nicky used her now chainless bike as a scooter at times, 8hrs all in.chillyman822/10/2020
Up Glen Eye from (Meikle) Inverey car park to Auchelie following track to Carn nan Seileach, Carn Creagach, and Carn Bhac. On to Coire Bhearnaist and cross coll between hills and ascent of Beinn lutharn Mhor. Descent to NE back to path following Allt Beinn lutharn, Altanour Lodge and Glen Ey. Follow track back to car park.raymooremanx30/08/2020
With Sunny & Iain. Beautiful weather Cycled in from Inverey 4 munros. Carn Bhac, Beinn Lutharn Mhor, Carn an Righ, Glas Tulaichean Missed An Socach!Huwel16/08/2020
Inverey where we mounted the bikes and set off on the 5 mile track ride up Glen Ey to the ruin of Altanour Lodge. The sun was shining, the Ey Burn meandered down the valley, fringed by clusters of newly planted copses. We cycled past “The Colonel’s Bed”. Most of the climbing was early on. The final section was in a broad flat glen culminating in a fenced copse enclosing Altanour Lodge ruin beyond which the path become steep and unsuitable for further cycling. We stopped, unloaded the bikes, pitched the tent in a hollow beside the path and near a tributary of the burn, had some lunch and prepared to start our first ascent to link the ascent of Carn Bhac (920m) and then Beinn lutharn Mhor (1045m). The first ascent was over uneven grass and heather up a gradual slope reaching Carn Bhac’s quarzite capped summit plateau and the welcome shelter of the stone windbreak that incorporated the summit cairn. We had great views to the north of the Cairngorm plateau we were to exploredavid.walker4007/08/2020

From car park in Meikle Inverey (NO 08949 89241). Long approach up Glen Ey to Altanour Lodge on a good Land Rover track perfectly suitable for mountain bikes. Gradual but boggy ascent to just past the grouse butts, conditions underfoot then improve considerably to the summit. Back to the car park by the same route.david23020129/09/2019
