From Cally CP. I may well not have found the best route amongst the logging tacks and brash above Cave pass. I took the track to the right of the information board in the car park, L on the balcony path, past a waterfall, R on a narrowing path through Caves pass, R on a track ascending steeply from the col, L on a faint ATV track through a stone wall by a distinctive harp-shaped fir tree, picked my way to the forest edge on a knoll and follow a bike track to the summit rock, returning along the bike track and mudding logging tracks to the col. | Nick Down1 | 09/10/2023 |
Came over from S top. Continued to N top subtump. | Adrian | 14/06/2022 |

From south top. Followed machine tracks back to cross roads (and made a mistake as continued along the wide track.) there is a narrow path that heads off to the left and this is the one as we came back that way! | Nicky C | 13/08/2020 |
Parked at Cally car park and took the path just to the right of the notice board, heading west. Pleasant walk through interesting mossy forest, then missed the uphill track which turned out to be at NO01764 43728, didn't look like a track at all, but did become a path up to the beallach. Started to follow a bike track heading NW, from NO01382 44187, but mistakenly left it to go up into the forest. On the return we followed the same bike track, which does pass the summit, all the way back. The forest was interesting, but the track was better. Should have had more confidence that we were on the willyross route! | LizH | 19/02/2020 |
After Craig a Barns South Top. Went up path NNW from junction as per willyross route. | duchally | 08/01/2020 |
From Cally car park via paths to col between two tops, near a forest vehicle junction. Look for path heading NNW from there, just to right side of muddy forestry track. This path goes all way to summit. | willyross | 11/10/2019 |
A 8 tump round from parking 400m west of track to cardney loch, kil craigs, craig more, conlan hill, deuchary hill west top, rotmell hill NE top, rotmell hill, craig a barns, craig a barns south top. | robertphillips | 10/10/2019 |
Pleasant morning run from Dowally, along quiet tracks to a path (seemingly used by mountain bikers) which begins about 150m WSW from the summit. | Rod M | 01/10/2018 |
From the saw mills CP with Jenx and Bryher, watch for start path, not obvious. Up the burn line, good tree features then cut up diagonally to summit | nordicstar | 06/06/2018 |
From the South Top picked up a path which led most of the way to the main summit. Then on to Rotmell Hill by another path leading North. | NormanW | 28/06/2017 |

From Cally CP, paths to top of Cave Pass, then on north. Little sign of tracks shown on 25K map. Reached summit under sparse larch but not without dodging spruce and tree debris. Continued NE to track corner at 016449. Detour to Crieff Hill on return. | Topographer57 | 10/03/2015 |
Followed high path N from car park until just past the burn. Climbed up to meet path W burn to highest point in the col. Then zigzagged up eventually taking bearing. Some high ground around shallow lochan past the ruined wall but kept on bearing for high point N returned over high point E. Just before dark. | Eddie | 03/11/2014 |
