RHS Summer Isles day 2, SIB 1 of 4tim74714/06/2022
As per Liz nice walk and hill with good views to mainland mountains.PeterD14/06/2022
Revisit. Day 2, with Josh and Carlos of Seascape from Ullapool. Land on shingle spit on SE tip. Extensive burning has made this much easier underfoot than before. Large pink rock cairn on summit. Steel plaque/ sculpture near spit says 'For Air, Stone and the equilibrium of understanding'-dated 1990. Very deep.Denise 14/06/2022
First island of day two on RHSoc Summer Isles trip, with Josh/Seascape and Carlos assisting. Landed at Sron a'Mhoil to the south. Walked along shoreline avoiding the tern nesting area. Some gull and other chicks on the stony shore. Headed up past the old ruin and a suspended stone over a commemorative plaque. Still some deep mossy vegetation, despite the wild fire a few months ago. Evidence of new growth already, but generally walking made easier by being able to see where to put your feet. Cairned summit with good views.LizH14/06/2022
RHSoc/ Josh at Seatrek. Dreadful hill, really disappointing. No sign of death or even warnings of it.Thearlaichdubh13/07/2021
On Day 2 of an RHSoc trip out of Ullapool. Landed at the shingle spit to the South and endured a climb to the top through thick vegetation and bracken. Pretty horrible but a nice cairn at the top.NormanW13/07/2021
RHS trip with the excellent Seascape Expeditions out of Ullapool. From the south through some diabolical deep spongy moss, bracken, etc. Saving grace was the views inland to sandy beaches and remote hills.AndrewFinnimore13/07/2021
Tough going to summitcjo13/07/2021
Kayak circumnavigation and ascent from West through horrible heather and tussocks.AndyS28/05/2019
kayaked across to Gruinard island from beach. thick vegetation to summit- large cairn- and no path. hot. quite a rough kayak trip back!Denise 02/06/2016
And again on:- 14-06-2022, Landed on pebble beach at SE tip of island. Along beach to gain lower slopes of grass and bracken then over upper burnt heather slopes to summit cairn. From Ullapool in RIB Selkie (Seascape Expeditions) ably and enthusiastically landed by Josh & Carlos.RichardM02/06/2016
Landed again twice today but stayed on board the RIB and bagged a Siblet while others bagged this great SIB and HuMP.Dugswell227/07/2015
1st island on day 2 of Seascape Expeditions Summer Isles trip organized by Alan Holmes. Wet boot landing at shingle beach at S end of island then 3/4 mile walk over rough heather/fern etc to good sized, lichen encrusted cairn at HP. Island de-contaminated 1990 and re-purchased by original owners after MoD WWII anthrax experiments.jonglew26/07/2015
Bagged on a RIB trip from Ullapool for Jon Metcalfe's 150oth HuMP on a greyish day.Dugswell210/06/2014
Although ungrazed the going not as hard going as expected. Otters and birdlife suggest anthrax gone.Fine summit.Martin R10/06/2014
RIB boat trip from Ullapool, a faint path goes NW from the spit to about 50m, a great help.chalky195310/06/2014
