Visit arranged with Andy McGill (07745 568145) who farms the island and very kindly collected me from Hall of Rendall beach. Superlative views of the Orkney islands from the summit cairn and trig pillar. Bonxi and Arcytic Skuas. Tea and Tiffin in the farm house and chat with Andy and his mother Valerie before being ferried back to Orkney. A great afternoon trip and many thanks to Andy and Valerie for their help and hospitality. I believe contact is appreciated before visiting Gairsay. And again on :- 02-09-2022,RichardM01/08/2018
Superb little trip. Made very welcome.jenx26/07/2018
Fine island. Made v welcome by Andy and Valerie. Do call them if visiting, even if not using their kind services to ferry you over. Previous Bagger landings have been discourteous in the least. Great home made scones and strawberry jam, fantastic :-)nordicstar26/07/2018

Contacted the farmer who picked us up by arrangement from do'ocot in a dinghy. Climbed hill and we were then treated to coffee and cakes by Andy McGill's mother who owns the island before being ferried back. Fantastic kindness but please contact him before landing as a matter of courtesy.Campbell Singer01/04/2015
