Solo trip, quickie on the way home from Dollar. | Invicta14 | 26/02/2024 |
After Lendrick Hill. Walked down road and along farm road to conifers & pond. Through gates in two empty fields to summit. Solo. | Dangerous Dave | 16/02/2024 |
Parking 200m N of start of tk to Downhill Farm (NO008039). 120m along tk to Downhill Farm, then cut back sharp R on grass tk for 20m, then 3 gates (upper gate is out of sight, aim off R towards N ridge), then up N ridge to Down Hill | Isbjorn | 22/09/2023 |
Along the farm track to the stand of scots pines and then up through two gates on good ground. | ARM | 21/03/2023 |

Easy access from Lendrick Hill parking to NE (008040). Straight up through a gate from the tiny pond shown on 1:25 map. | 49pp | 17/08/2022 |
Up from the Dunning Glen via the Downhill Farm track. Hill grazed by cattle, fine fort | fasgadh | 01/11/2021 |
Same route as TRG318. The outer embankment of the hill fort is just beyond the second gate and easier to see than the terracing on the summit. Superb views from the top. I liked this hill and climbed it twice - admittedly the second time was searching for a dropped glove, which eluded me. | Nick Down1 | 18/09/2020 |
As others, parked at end of Lendrick Hill track. Down the road to Down Hill Farm track, up track and though gate on RHS, just before a small copse of trees (marked as a pond on my OS Map). Through another gate at top of field and up the open hill side. Cairn at top has been rebuilt. | TRG318 | 11/03/2020 |
A Christmas morning leg stretch with wife and son no.1. Beautiful blue skies, frozen underfoot, and totally still air. Started at Lendrick Hill and included a wander over to Castle Hill Reservoir - fabulous dam walk. Now for that Chrissy dinner and champers!! | summitter | 25/12/2019 |
Dreich weather. Very quick up and down from farm track. With B and R. | jenx | 14/12/2019 |
Parked as previous at the track end leading up Lendrick Hill. Took the Easter Down Hill Farm track to the tiny wood, then over field via gates bottom/top onto grassy summit slopes. Short 1hr round trip, Corb Law to follow. | N.Morters | 01/12/2019 |
Parked at the track end for Lendrick Hill, walked a short distance down the road and along the track towards the farm, then through a gate at the small wood, across a field, another gate and up on grass to the summit. Interesting little fort with good views. | LizH | 27/10/2019 |
Ascended in rain from Lendrick Hill carpark. Headed for small clump of trees to avoid boggy ground and went up from here through a higher gate. | JohnW | 18/10/2019 |
From Lendrick Hill car park via farm road. Cairn has been demolished. | hillsman | 08/01/2019 |
From Castlehill Reservoir Dam and past Down Hill Farm, with Colin Crawford. | Chris Peart | 09/11/2018 |
Second visit, with Chris Peart | Colin Crawford | 09/11/2018 |
Parked at the track entrance at NO 00809 03960. Took the road south to the beginning of the track to Easter Downhill farm, leaving it at the first bend to ascend steeply up the east flank of the hill to the summit (two easy gates) through rough pasture. Descended the SE ridge (two gates) back to the track, taking it north to join my outward route. Solo. | Man of Kernow1 | 20/05/2017 |
From Lendrick parking via entrance to Easter Downhill farm. Remains of substantial fort at the summit. | NormanW | 01/05/2017 |
From Lendrick C.P. To the farm entrance and across the fields. Temp inversion, cold and foggy in the glen and warm and sunny up top! | Play2End | 17/03/2016 |
At night. Head torch on. Parked at the entrance to the Dam. Gate was closed so parked alongside it. Over the Dam, up to the farm road then straight up to the summit. Very easy even after heavy rain. | Stevend1 | 27/01/2016 |
From Lendrick Hill CP, then access rd to Downhill FM, and up hill. Always wanted to climb Downhill. Not disappointed. | Thearlaichdubh | 28/12/2015 |
from cp below lendrick hill track then through 2 gates to the cairn. | robertphillips | 27/10/2015 |
Track across Glendey burn, over gate and short distance NW to another gate, then easy ascent. | Topographer57 | 20/04/2015 |
Picked off after going up Lendrick Hill. Substantial cairn stones probably robbed from rampartz oc hill fort. | mntainman | 10/02/2015 |
From across the reservoir dam (worth a visit even if not climbing the hill). Vegetation makes it tough from the dam to the farm road (easier in winter!). Thence a straight forward climb up the SE ridge past the pine trees. | Minto | 31/08/2014 |
plus 3 P30s, fine steep SW slope | RHW | 18/02/2013 |
Parked at track on E side of road and N of Downhill Farm track. Followed the track to a gate in the field just S of the pond. Through a gate at the top of the field and fairly straight up. | chrisbien | 25/07/2010 |
Easy access from south end of Castlehill Reservoir, over sluice, up little track to farm road then straight up. The water drops an astonishing height from the reservoir down to the river below. Vertigo! | agentmancuso | 06/12/2008 |
