Parked on the minor road at NX14446 88039. Pleasant walk over short grass. Followed a track to a gate at NX 15676 88877. Good visibility and lovely views over Ailsa Craig and Arran.LizH14/07/2019
Parked near cattle grid on minor road to W. Surprisingly firm, easy pasture made a very pleasant stroll to the summit on a sunny day.RobertP09/12/2018
5th hill of 11 today on an elongated loop from Girvan, climbing Shalloch Hill, Byne Hill, Mains Hill and Grey Hill, dropping down S then SE to the minor road following it to Lendal lodge, over the Water of Lendal and then on a track to Knockbain, climbing a gate to access the open hillside. Took quite a few pictures of wildflowers as the weather had improved greatly before continuing the climb up to the Trig point and rock. Great views! Onwards to Craig Hill.Dazingdale16/05/2017
P Cairnsmore Cottage. Up track to sheep fold then directly up to BH. 3 gates almost to FH. Old BW fence and new BWF with electric wire. Back down to forest, over a couple of fences and up to top. To wall and firebreak heading SW then SE to BH. Onto KH where I ran out of time. FB then track to car.chrisbien04/04/2017
2nd of 5 from Craig Hill. Quite a lot of tussocky grass to summit of excellent hill with fine views. On to Breaker.Thearlaichdubh02/01/2017

Approach from minor road to SW. GR8 views of Knockdolian & Ailsa Craig on way across...both looking strangely similar on sunny Sunday but never lazy afternoon.Dugswell218/04/2011

Easy approach from cattle grid at high point to WSW, mostly decent turf after initial boggy patch. Good views back to Knockdolian and to Grey Hill.agentmancuso29/03/2008
Parked near C.G. on minor road to S.W. Headed over rough pasture , churned by cattle. Open hillside after burn crossing was better. Rocky area around Trig. Returned on N side of wall, over much easier going on drier ground. To hit road 100m further N.W. than ascent route. With the F.C.The Captainblank
