A long day from Sugar Bowl CP, out via Lairig Ghru, Garbh Coire Bothy and NE (Angel's) ridge returning over Braeriach. Great weather but rough going over boulders.Lorna S31/08/2023
Car to Linn of Dee, bike to Derry Lodge. Walk to Corrour Bothy and then Stob Coire an t-Saighdeir, Sgor an Lochain Uaine, Cairn Toul and Devil's Point. Back the same way. Long day!tsharp08/07/2023
Penultimate Munro recompletion summit. From Whitewell, cycled up to Loch Einich then path to a cairn about 3km west of summit, at 1010m. There is a steep, worn out section of the path at about 950m that requires care and hands. From the cairn, a steady, slightly U-shaped ascent to col W of summit should avoid boulders or re-ascent. Final ascent is low gradient but here boulder ground is unavoidable. The track to Loch Einich forks at 350m, west track is stony and almost too steep to push up or safely ride down. East route is less steep but most of it is no more than a path.Topographer5710/06/2023
Linn of Dee - cycled to Derry Lodge - Corrour bothy - The Devil’s Point - Stob Coire an t-Saighdeir - Cairn Toul - Sgor an Lochain Uaine - skirted Cairn Toul and descent of Coire Odhar to Corrour - Derry Lodge - Linn of Dee.Mark Jackson10/08/2022
Braeriach - Cairn Toul traverse ... Day one/Day two - Beautiful sunny day with some high cloud on day one ... Camped near the top of Sgor an Lochain Uaine at around 8pm ... Enjoyed a dry and windless night with a clear Scottish sky full of stars!... Up at 4am, a little cold and damp after a bit of a restless night spent in our single skin Bivi tents ... Walked to the summit at about 6am with some early morning mist rolling in ... No view at the top.R & K01/08/2022

Loop from sugarbowl carpark, out through lairig ghru and high level traverse back 38.5km in 10hrs 30.shocking weather and very tricky terrain at times. I'd reckomend staying in the bothy rather than doing it in a oner. Taking in the devil's point, stob coire an t-saighdeir, carn toul, sgor an lochain uaine, carn na criche, braeriachNicky C29/05/2022

Cairn Toul - Braeriach traverse - Walkhighlands route for 4 munros, done in 1 dayhummusg18/07/2021
Solo traverse of the four munros west of the Lairig Ghru from the Sugarbow car park. Set off just before 5am from the Sugarbowl - Chalamain Gap to Lairig Ghru 3.5 hrs to the bothy, which was surrounded by tents. Was up on the summit of Devil's Point by 9:15am, at which point the high cloud cover started disappearing. Over to Stob Coire an t-Saighdeir and the bouldery Cairn Toul summit, then to Angel's Peak. Long walk round to Braeriach summit where there was a large herd of reindeer. Descent down from Braeriach back down to the Rothiemurchas path and then back through the Chalamain gap to return to Sugarbowl car park. 10h 13min total time.mproudfoot18/07/2021

Ascent of both Sgor an Lochain Uaine and Cairn Toul from the unusual route starting at Achlean in Glen Feshie. Route via Carn Ban Mor and then over Moine Mhor and via Loch nan Capan. A there and back route that needs clear conditions.knarf08/07/2021

09/08/2020: A calm night, cold but dry. We were greeted with the rising sun. Watched a lone female hiker arise from her bivouac, stow her minimal gear and head off to run the rest of the ridge! There were ¾ tents further over from which laughter and singing had emerged the evening before. Breakfast was notable for the success of the fruit porridge and honey. The 2/3 slicer bacon rolls and startling location in which we found ourselves. We were soon on our way around across Carn na Criche, Sgor na Lochan Uaine The Angel’s Peak (No. 5 1258m), to Cairn Toul summit (No 6. 1291m) then to Stob Coire an t- Saighdeir (1213m)david.walker4009/08/2020

Solo. After Braeriach wild camp. neil hutton20/06/2017
From the Sugar Bowl car park climbed Braeriach over Stob na Laurige. I was convinced by a teacher I met part way that I should do the other Munros. So I went on to Carn na Criche, The Angels Peak, Cairn Toul, Stob Coire an t Saighdeir and The Devils Point. I then went down to Corrour and the long walk North on the Lairig Ghru and back through the Chalamain Gap. The weather was warm and sunny with cloud free skies I got burnt. Wildlife included Snow Bunting, Grey Wagtail, Red Grouse, Ptarmigan a Lizard near Corrour and a Roe Deer near the Wells of Dee. Walk distance about 23 miles in 11 hours 30 minutes. Tiring but great day. The plateaux is very special in the UK hills.isabelle31/05/2017

0800 Linn of Dee car park; I cycled into Derry Lodge 0850; and then continued on foot, via the Luibeg bridge to Corrour bothy 1040, pause; up the excellent track up coire Odhar, snow across path at top and went off piste on steep wet grass about which I worried in terms of the descent; was begining to struggle uphill on Devil's Peak (1205) and even more so up Coire an t Sighdair (1348); i headed direct for Angel's Peak, the psychology being if I did Cairn Toul first I might do a time check on the top and worry about whether I had time for Angel's Peak, I could always omit Cairn Toul, knowing it is doable on its own; Angel's Peak 1426;langskill24/05/2014
Final Cairngorm Munro. Reached from Cairn Toul. Slightly less cloud on this summit. Hard going on way back, by-passing Cairn Toul and Coire an t-Saighdeir on their western flanks to reach Coire Odhar again, then a long way back to the Linn of Dee.Windy Corner25/08/2013

Last of the 1997 Munros! (May have done this on previous visits, but wasn't sure.) Solo (while gp on DoE), fr NH985073, mostly running, skies now clearing, some sun, getting views. A few snow patches. Running not so easy on Cairn Toul but was trying.NorfolkPT2110/07/2013
Walked in Thurs 20th from Gen Feshie to camp on Tom Dubh. Wake on solstice to total silence, wind free. First sound is a bird song, then tumbling water as I cross first stream up to Cairn Toul. Wisps of cloud hang like a jellyfish with numerous tendrils hanging down, above Beinn Bhrotain to the south. CT for the third time SaLU for the second time and as I head for the Braeriach plateau, frustratingly a bank of cloud rolls over. Meet Canadian guy, Mark in the clagg, we wander the plateau a little disorientated towards eastern cliffs. Quite a bit of confusion and uncertainty, eventually get there, mist is thinning. As we part, I head further NE towards my northern Murdo. Hot and clear by this time. On way back I contour round the western edge of the plateau look down into Loch Coire an Lochain and across tops to Carn na Criche. I've longed to return to Braeriach in summer with no clag, since age 13 in June with my dad, plateau covered in snow and clagged in. A joyous day today indeed.vegibagger21/06/2013

Over all the tops in Munros tables from Devils Point to Braeriach. A start from Corrour bothy meant we could savour this walk, in fine conditions. We were delighted and amused when this superb peak was promoted to Munro status after our walk. We usually have a Munros trip at the end of May but postponed it a month as we'd encountered snow-blocked paths then in the Cairngorms but in 1997 the 'almost permanent' snow on this mountain looked as though it wouldn't last the summer. Lots of Black Mountain Moths already out- flying on the stony ridges in the warm sun today. With brother, Petepwheeler17/06/1997

With Martin66 on a windy & cold day from the Linn of Dee. Used mountain bikes to get as close to the Devil's Point as possible, then crossed the Dee & walked up Glen Geusachan until one of my brother's famous diretissimas came along... Turned into grabbing handfuls of heather while scrabbling about on loose scree but we reached the Devil's Point summit unscathed. Pressed on over Stob Coire an t-Saighdeir to Cairn Toul. Dropped to the col heading for Angel's Peak, taking some shelter behind some rocks from the snow which was now driving across the plateau. Martin66 announced that he would wait there while I bagged it because he had done it before! Easy enough even in developing blizzard conditions but up & down in record time! Reunited, we walked on a compass bearing directly back to Stob Coire an t-Siaghdeir & dropped to the col where the snow stopped & visibility cleared. Down the path to Corrour (filthy) & back to find the hidden bikes. All a bit nuts!NotReallyABagger24/03/1993
