Parking for 1 atTynypontpren. To trig on s. Summit via RoW and forestry track. Back to Row, almost immediately left on path track. In old trees easy up to and along skyline . From 714704 the summit appeared on opposite ridge. Beeline through prev reported rough stuff. Descent pretty much the reverse.Moorponder15/07/2019
This hill brings me down to 100 HuMPs left to do in Wales. Day trip down to Aber with my bike on the train.Alex C10/11/2018
Once off track to south, going is hard, Firstly heather, tall weeds and brambles. Soon reach replanted summit area - trees now 20' high but not yet tightly interlaced. In between, waist high heather.carole engel07/08/2018
Took the route, as others, from the lane-end at SN 69819 70307. Where the branch track doubles back to the trig point, I thrashed my way north for 400m of brambles, gorse and waist-high heather. As other advise, the best going is on the heather bank on the left side of the felled area. No shorts for this one, unless you want much bleeding. Returned the same way. Solo.Man of Kernow105/04/2018
As mae. Ground on W side of wasteland on forest margin seems better than on E side. Brambles are the most troublesome obstacle. Best done in winter.RobertP15/12/2017
Parked at 698703 as Mae. Once you leave the track it is indeed fairly grim - a mixture of heather, gorse, bog, tussocks, brambles and pathlessness - and the brambles are not in full form yet.clivevilla24/04/2017
From the forest road to the SE. Down to the forest road to the north. Both ways dreadful with brambles and tree remains. Alan Moore07/04/2017
9/10 First of two singles after nice circuit (Trawsallt/Llanddu Fawr (Waen Claerddu/Carreg Naw Lyn/Esgair Hengae/Esgair Wen/Dibyn Du/Disgwulfa/Graig Feklen/Mynydd Bach/Allt yr Hebog) Soon this won't be climable due to forest growth !Fergalh30/07/2016
With K and M; RM stayed in car. Strolling and woods.Ashley01/06/2016
Final HuMP of 31C. Did I leave the worst till last? Maybe. Parked at start of vehicle track for Myhecin Forest trig pillar. Did that first then returned to car. Walked round to 327m spot height then NE for 250m before heading into forest, which was initially easy before it got more difficult! Easily identifiable HP due to felling. Returned directly S to car - much easier.jonglew14/10/2015
Parked near farm entrance on minor road to east then up road and track to trig. Then into the 400 metres of thankfully dry wasteland which I would pay good money to see Charles Everett do in his shorts.Dugswell209/09/2015
Easy parking at SN 698 703. Good track most of the way, before heading N off-piste to the summit.mae19/08/2015
Not quite as awful as previous entries had led me to expect. The better going - still bad but less so - is definitely to the left of the wastelandColin Crawford25/10/2014
With CC - a wasteland indeed!Chris Peart25/10/2014
Park at 702702. On track to gate at 712703 and back up to column 5569 at 707702 371m. From gate you're on your own! Its the worst 500m I've come across in recent years. Shite of the century. With the felling at least you can see the rise of the hill tantalisingly close.arranc12/09/2014
Best limited parking probably at Hendre Felen. Walk to the trig very pleasant. Returned to track and set off from S of summit. Awful 500m. Bog - high brambles - heather - blackberry (not ripe) - 5 foot high grass - RBW herb - hidden ankle breakers under covered remains of felled trees. Best route probably verge of plants from heather to the rest on W side of stream/bog.destaylor09/08/2012
Which is worse forest or cleared forest? Answers on a postcard to the F Commission. The trig is hidden behind a shed - one for uk.rec.shedsMartin R28/08/2011
Went to the trig point first after following track from the east and going south of the hill. My gps measured the trig highest. The actual top is not in the forest as it has been felled. Another ankle breaking jaunt through 400m of hell.DARRENG10/07/2011
