Only parking to E was on a narrow and VERY soft wet grass verge with a high risk of getting stuck. Wider, but equally soft and wet verge near Moneylaws Farm to the N. Leave until dry weather.Isbjorn26/12/2023
As Liz H and others.Nice hill.ARM20/08/2023
From footpath to SE that looked unused. Fine view of The Cheviot Hills. Shower on the way back but spirits not dampened.Wycombe Wanderer15/05/2023
Very complicated approach from the disused railway to the west but did eventually get here in the end.Alex C27/01/2023
Parked on the verge near the track to the wood. Along the track, then along the forest edge and through an open gate, across the field to a 2nd gate, and to the summit. Good views.LizH10/10/2022
Last day of our week in Kirk Yetholm (highly recommended, lots of walkers staying). We nearly forgot about this Hump, confused again by going N to get into England!. Parked at space at the Barley Hill road summit (172 m). Massive farm vehicles being used but we got a friendly wave from the farmer as we waited for him to drive down the track we then walked up the same way as most others,e.g.Jonglew. Fine views, very pastoral N, Cheviots S. A whole week of fine weather with very clear views. With Pete.pwheeler16/09/2022
4/6 Parked on verge just above the cottage to the east. Followed GB's route up farm track, along N side of now harvested wood, along field edges and across sheep pasture to trig. No evidence of RoW in arable fields. 3.3km with 80m ascent in a round trip of less than 1 hour.silveracorn_alan11/05/2022
From cottage to East through various fields the one with the trig full of sheep with lambs.NormanW06/03/2022
From E, via track and field edges. Pleasant gentle stroll.Lindsay M06/02/2022

From road to ESE. Room to park close to the cottage on the bend. Followed field edges > Moneylaws Hill.JohnR03/01/2022
From East just north of farm buildings. Just after pheasant shoot, along field edge, then wind-thrown forest. Over a couple of fields via gates to summit and trig.N.Morters28/12/2021
As others, from east. Lovely views.PGCE14/05/2020
verge parking to the east, track to woods, fields to the top.robertphillips25/01/2020
Roadside verge parking (NT 8842 3455). Ignored the RoW, it goes straight across a field with young crop; took farm track then wide field margins.jonglew09/10/2019
With K from track end to E. At summit, farmer passed by in field to N on ATV and studiously ignored us.Ashley11/08/2019
Verge parking to the east just north of Barley Cottage (alt 169m), which has been renovated and is now occupied. Walked back along the road to the cottage and picked up the footpath as far as the trees. Although there is a waymark upon leaving the wood this leads straight through a wheatfield. Conveniently, the farmer had left the field edges crop free so I used these, following an irregular path into the field before the summit. Then a direct cut across. 3.25km return, 45 minutes.moorsman01/08/2019
Parked on grass verge just below start of farm track at 884345 - Up track & then along N. edge of wood to gate - Over gate & then along S. & W. edge of cultivated field to gate by wall/fence junction at 876347 - Over gate & across sheep pasture to summit & trig point. (S)gerrybowes26/09/2018
With Jenx and Bryher, just after the 300+ horses of the Flodden ride out had passed. Up from the barn at Barley Hill. Tried to use FP but overgrown through woods so took a more direct line down sides of cornfield. Came back more direct in SE direction using the line horses had taken to join end of track that leads back to Barley Hill farm.nordicstar10/08/2017
The mass horse ride at the start made this memorable. And the golden barley fields.jenx10/08/2017
FP to SE does not exist. Use track further NE to gate at NT881350. Then west on fenced track to pasture. This field is occupied by 6 inquisitive but friendly horses. The small patch of woodland ahead was occupied by a herd of mad cows - 3 jumped the fence INTO the field I was in, the rest ran round thru' the wood to join the horses and await my return!carole engel18/06/2017
From track N of Barley cott. Up far side of wood. Two arable fields with a good 10 metre grass boundary and pedestrian gate.Eddie04/04/2017
As others from Barley Hill cottage. Much digging on small hill just to E of Moneylaws with JCB excavator, dumper trucks - perhaps a mast or reservoir being built?Aye Jimmy02/08/2016
Route as per Dugswell2. None of this is on access land, but no problems - no-one in sight.Crib Goch10/10/2015
As Dugswell2.Campbell Singer08/10/2015
Parked near gateway well above Barley Cottage to use obvious track then walked along wood edge then through two fields to summit near trig with Phil Cooper.Dugswell209/11/2014
New English sub Marilyn. Park at Barley Hill (empty) follow crop lines north to a cross wood, turn left and over thin crops to a final sheep field and the column by a stout wall.arranc10/06/2013
Up from the holiday cottage at the south side of a somewhat enigmatic footpath. Arable fields have big unplanted strips and the summit is by a dyke in pasture. The triangulation pillar is dented, but otherwise in good shape - and exists!fasgadh27/02/2013
Branxton to Milfield: Slow progress from Flodden Field memorial along icy lanes then soft snow over the fields. Wonderful views of winter landscape in sunshine.Smudge26/01/2013
Easy parking to ENE on bend. Followed field edges. Top in pasture.destaylor07/06/2012
Detective work is needed to find any trace of the nearby footpath, by rights it goes through the middle of a crop field.JohnStoneham04/09/2011
With Darren on a nice sunny evening after an awfully wet day.Staying at Kirk Yetholm YH. Big circular straw bales in the fields. Nobody about unlike 500 year ago (almost)when 80,000 souls of James IV of Scotland's army were dug in on Flodden Hill at the east of the high ridge shared with Moneylaws Hill and about to be decimated by the English army who swung around to the north to cut off James'supply chain.Chris Pearson04/08/2011
Parked at unoccupied cottage 884 344. followed track then field boundaries.chrisbien12/06/2010
trig pillar no longer presentPhil M04/04/2010
