Knock Pike and Flagdaw on morning run from cottage in Knock. Started on track at back of cottage, onto path that heads north from the village to the east of Knock Pike and then straight up through bracken and grass. On to Flagdaw and then back on road. 6.67 km.Herbert Anchovy13/08/2023

Parked at the gate, at the end of the driveable section of road ending NNW of the hill. Short distance along the track, then up over steep grass to the summit. Good views from a very short walk.LizH03/10/2022
Limited parking in Knock, beside barn opposite chapel (NY680270). Up lane NNE from Town End Farm, R at 1st junction, then waymarkers vanish, so can be a bit of a struggle to cross Knock Gill. Stone stile in wall at NY703268, then northern of two gates to start relentless slog up faint FP in bootlace-undoing bracken to top of Brownber Hill. Hurdle in wall at NY703280 facilitates a way to join PW at Swindale beck, then cross Sink Beck to join RoW SW to foot of Knock Pike, steep ascent, return to RoW which fights SSW through bracken and gorse. No waymarkers once enter arable land, RoW FP between walls seems to be completely overgrown, used fields on E side back to former R junction.Isbjorn21/08/2022
from Knock village via FP [overgrown] to east side of hill, up SE edge then down W side to the Knock Fell road.IanHHill05/07/2022

Knock Pike, Flagdaw and Burney Hill from Knock, and walk back to Dufton. Freezing conditions and snow with sun and easterly wind. With Bryher.jenx10/02/2021
From Knock, long walk along service road to Great Dun Fell, onto Little Dun Fell and Cross Fell back along PW to Knock Fell and then meandered down PW and bagged Knock Pike before getting back to Car.Longwojo20/08/2020
Ascended from where the public road ends and from where the hill looks quite shapely. Descended to the path to the east and on to Flagdaw.JohnW28/07/2020
4/4 From Dufton, Dufton Pike from the East, then down west, cut back underneath to north of hill to Climb Brownber Hill also from South East Corner. Then contoured round West to climb Flagdaw and home over Knock Pike and back on Wainwright's Pennine Journey footpath. A buzzard glanced off my hair!! What a whoosh!nickywood108/07/2020

From Gravel Pit (on minor road to Great Dun fell just outside Knock) - Initially deterred by heavy rain we ascend Knock Pike - As conditions improve we follow footpath alongside Swindale beck flanking Flagdaw and joining the service road track up Great Dun - Cloud closes in around us at pole 287 - horizontal hail by pole 90 but nearly there - bag summit of Great Dun Fell and make a hasty retreat. Visibility at top less than 50 yrds.briandavies11/11/2018
Parked on wide verge by entrance to disused gravel pit at 6853 2879 - Through gate opposite & along RoW to sheep pens - Over a couple of gates into access land & then up over short grass to unmarked summit, making use of occasional animal trods & ATV tracks. (S)gerrybowes10/10/2018
With Jo, circular walk from near Christian Centre. Ascended along Dunfell Road and descended by footpath to Town End Farm. Weather; cloudy, occasional drizzle, moderate visibility.amblerbob13/09/2018

With K in a round from Dufton including Dufton Pike. Footpath following track from Knock to Knock Pike is almost impassable due to growth/collapse of a large number of thorn bushes (blackthorn, rose etc.) Also loads of flies on this route. Recommend doing it from road end to NW of hill instead.Ashley22/04/2018

With Jenx and Bryher, up the bridleway lane from Knock, very wet and muddy in places. Someone had tried to cycle it and lost their bike I think ;-). Once onto hill pleasant going, superb views. Back direct to Christian centre and road to start.nordicstar25/10/2017

Parked in Knock, took direct ROW to access land then up SE ridge. Fine views, strong E breeze. Picked up sheep tracks and wider grassy tracks to descend to W old quarry on N side of hill. Continued with Brownber Hill(qv) and Dufton Pike(qqv) in a day's walking (5h20min) in the fascinating Whin Sill area between the high pennines and Eden Valley.pwheeler08/05/2017

Dufton car park - Dufton Pike East/West traverse, Knock Pike, Flagdaw, Knock Fell, Backstone Edge, High Cup Nick,Harthwaite, Keisley Bank. 27.5k epic with Mart and Daisy. Watch out for the hole in the bridge over Knock Gill!!John Eley29/01/2017
From the minor road to the north. Pleasant grassy slopes all the way to top.Campbell Singer10/08/2016
7.5 walk from Knock village in perfect weather, walked up path to Knock Pike (Nice Little Hill), then back and along paths across fields to NW ridge up onto Dufton Pike (Great Little Hill), descended same way and thought Brownber Hill looked to tempting to ignore, so slogged up steep slopes to Brownber Hill Top, back along paths to Knock, then travelled to Baugh Fell.DanTrig16/05/2016
Walked on my own from Dufton. Fine and dry but lots of white cloud and rather too hazy for good views. Very windy on the summit.flockwatcher07/05/2016
Parked at the first gate just before the 430m contour on the radar road & went anticlockwise round 3 tumps. Via path to quarry.agentmancuso13/10/2015

Knock Pike, Flagdaw, Burney Hill. No highland cattle today on Knock Pike today. There's gated access to the fell from the quarry.ijpowell11/07/2014
There's a lane around the back of this hill, and unexpectedly a large quarry with face about 150' high. Easy grassy slopes to sudden arrival on summit marked by single small stone.Aye Jimmy10/08/2013
After Dufton Pike and Brownber Hill.Crib Goch06/04/2013
Wintery day with summit just below the snowline. Very steep descent to the north which was a bit tricky as I was in trainers having left my boots back in my car in Brimingham!signyred09/03/2013
Parked to N. Track then bits of paths. Highland cattle with young still there - gave them a very wide berth and followed wall when got to it on way back - so that if needed could scramble over it!destaylor20/09/2012
Climbed up from road. Interesting when I discovered that there was a herd of highland cattle on the hill but, luckily, they were friendly.clivevilla01/09/2012

Parked by Knock and ran circuit up lane past Close Ho to GR686287 and path to old Quarry, used old tracks RHS of quarry and minor top to summit. Glorious day with extended views of Eden valley. SE ridge to lane and back to Knock.nordicstar27/03/2012
From SSW on wet path passed farm at Knock and relatively easy field access to a very windy summit on a bright autumn day.Dugswell214/11/2011
From Dufton pike. Tricky finding a way to get up without going through a few of the farmers fields. Descended to the road to the West and walked back to Dufton. The Team14/08/2011
W Darren at start of our annual bagging week (Clems,Deweys,400s and Donalds - 'pre Tump' days) From Knock village followed by a large friendly dog for hours all the way round. Up SE flank. Geologist near summit then Flagdaw & Brownber Hill(had to lift the large dog awkwardly over a stile or two.Chris Pearson01/08/2011
Through sheep on a gated track and bridle way onto WDP to the open fell. Faint path uphill through another gate, crossed a gap in another wall filled with barbed wire to the rounded dome at 13.30. No cairn. Cross Fell in cloud.arranc04/06/2011
