O: OS had an 'old trig' close to highest point of hedge SY 54728 94224 approx. However the rather level field at c. SY 54766 94147 could be as high or higher.

O: Standard concrete column to mark the trig point which is situated 10m from the roadside in a field. A hop over a barb-wire fence needed to get up close & personal!

Did Trig first then Walked from west. Went to tumulus and then HP grid reference. Nothing special for my 400th English Hump and 100th English and Welsh Hump of the year.PeterD17/12/2023
Parked near road junction to N, from trig and summit, in separate fields.Minto05/07/2023
Faffed about a bit to find best parking and settled for lay-by near box with electrical installation inside. A few minutes walk to HP, then track to Two Gates and back, where a maintenace van had arrived- good job we returned via the track! We then drove to the cross roads (SY 547944) and walked on the RoWs to the fort, exploring the S ramparts (magnificent) before going off the bw to visit the trig pt- easy exit via bbw gate to lane.pwheeler06/06/2023

Parked in the lay-by and wandered over to trig, then to what I believe is the highpoint by the hedge in the opposite field. I feel, as I parked adjacent to this that I may have cheated a little.....but I had just done a 10 mile walk so meh.......stagger onward30/08/2021
Parked in layby alongside farm gate at SY 5457 9420 (space for 2 or 3 cars) - Over gate & along edge of cultivated field to the high point by hedge. (S)gerrybowes11/05/2021

Parked on road to West Compton near high point. Skipped sturdy wire fence. Struggle to believe marked spot is indeed high point. Would have liked check altitudes and enjoy the hill fort but just too cold a day to lingerPete West20/02/2020

Parked in the layby at the road junction close to the trig point. Walked to Trig which as being used as a scratching post by some young cows. Then off to explore the more picturesque iron age fort being heading driving off to BroadwindsorBuck03/08/2019
On a days walk from Loders, walked along bridleway to ruined barn with dishes attached then North, pity the hill fort is not the high point well worth a visitphilhythe30/09/2018

Visited hill fort and walked along road to trig.Skerryvore26/07/2014
Quick diversion from the A35 on way home from site visit. Managed to access the field and park by some sort of water holding facility. The highest point seemed to be somewhere within an arable field and it was certainly higher than the trig point.Herbert Anchovy02/01/2014
With Alf. The gate to the field on which the top has been relocated was open. Walked over it but the trig looks a bit higher. Visted the nearby hill fort wonderful spot.mick27/08/2013
With Anna, walked up from Powerstock. The recent relocation has placed the top in the middle of field full of tall grass protected by barbed wire! A pointless exercise, I suspect. At least the trig can be reached from a footpath without requiring gymnastics!citygent08/06/2013
On way after work to Ollie & Ann's at Axminster to join Lesley & family for 5 days in Cornwall. Diverted on lovely evening to trig and field(top).Chris Pearson08/06/2013

Take the dogs here alot, but never realized it was on this site! Digging through various photos to get a date, it was particularly hot and sunny, just before the fine weather broke and the floods of 2012 began. Some fine views down to the coast from here on a clear day.derlan28/03/2012
