O: Taken to be approx location of natural highpoint which would probably have been a few cm above road level.

O: Not possible to tell whether the reservoir would have been on higher ground, so I agree with Aye Jimmy on the location.

Solo trip to Liverpoolkindpercy13/03/2024
The gate to the tower was open while work was being done, so I walked up the steps to the tower and chatted to the workmen. Apparently, the tower was built in 1911 and a valve needed replacing. While this was happenning, the water for the area was coming from a tanker in Church Road.Alan Moore02/02/2024
Parked on appropriately named Summit Way and climbed the south side of Reservoir Rd pavement to admire the summit tower before descending by the north side.lordtonult08/11/2022
A local got upset by me climbing over the railings so I went along to Strawberry Field and John Lennon's House to gain much needed love and peace.summitter29/08/2022
A quiet avenue after which A MUST visit down slope to the nearby newly opened Strawberry Field visitor centre- where the free to wander beautiful peace gardens are a delight. Lots of peace messages imbedded around the gardens. If ever we need some of John Lennon's inspiration and imagination to Give Peace A Chance it is now - 4 weeks into the Russian war in Ukraine. The NATO leaders meeting in Brussels today to decide what next should have come here -for calming reflection. One poignant sign reads-The only battle worth waging is Peace. I liked the mindfulness labyrinth stepping stones -once at the centre you are invited to sit, think, sleep, read or pray -for as long as you like. What a great place where Patrick on reception instantly greeted me warmly.Chris Pearson24/03/2022

Traverse from Liverpool South Parkway to Broad Green station heading NE past Allerton cemetary, Clarke gardens then North at road junction through estate to the covered reservoir. A Highways car was parked about 30m beyond the summit, however after 10 mins and no sign of activity so I climbed over railing and walked on top. Continued exploration by visiting Reynolds park, the West side of Black Wood and then on a footpath through Childwall woods veering off on a bearing NE through scrub and nasty brambles in places to arrive at minor road then across to the former Liverpool loop line, now a recreational path that I followed all the way to Broad Green station.Dazingdale08/12/2017
