1/8. As Gerrybowes. A few distant views added to the enjoyment. A few barking dogs from the farm but no movement.Mark Jackson19/03/2024
Parked in lay-by at end of RoW at SP 2561 8441. Easy access along path then skirting the field margins to the HP. Also circled around the wall to bag the trig to the S. Note it’s in the E field but access can be gained by walking to the end of the hedge and back. Aided by mist otherwise in full view of the farm so approaching from the SW would have been better. Saw a family of deer in the mist.Vulcan28/02/2024
Stopped by while driving up the 6.justin_j_evans16/01/2024
Parked off road in front of mast enclosure gates at SP 25810 84247 - Through kissing gate, S. along field boundary to wide gap in hedge & then WNW through long grass alongside wall to high point.gerrybowes19/07/2023

The new relocated top is fairly easy to acquire from a parking spot by transmitter at SP 25802 84225. Through the kissing gate, follow field boundary to SP 25789 84121 and along the very solid fence to the top. There and back 5 mins.DC11main26/03/2023

Walked here from Hampton-in-Arden station. Explored the woods and the area near the phone tower - anyone's guess as to where the highest point is. If you're doing this from Meriden, note that the bridge on the B4102 heading over the A45 has been demolished and won't be rebuit and reopened until September. Headed back to Meriden and then to Villa Park for the classic UA top / Tottenham away win double!Richard09/04/2022

After bagging Corley Moor I ran around the edge of Birchley Heys Wood and down the road. There are two laybys within about 100m of the 'top'. Followed a scrappy path along side of field and then through about 2m of bracken to edge of wood where HP appeared to be.Wheelsy09/07/2021

Parked in very potholed layby to E. Path in woods overgrown so followed field edge to tree stump, then looked round in woods.CreakingHiker18/12/2019

Made this harder than needed to be. First of all slinging it down with rain. Walked from layby south down Fillongly Road and entered wood on right at broken gate. Should have followed field boundary on North side of wood, which is actually Stocked Wood, to tree trunk and high point. Wood floor covered in brambles tripped over and lost glasses in ground cover. After 20mins searching was getting desperate when found them. Returned back to van soaked along field boundary to road and easy exit from wood with no fence and worn path. After all this tracklog shows summit listed slightly north of 185m contour ring. May return at a later date to re-enter wood to stand on brambles within contour ring that may or may not be higher.mntainman12/12/2019

From lay-by, as others. Flat area of unfenced but private woodland. Solo.Dangerous Dave04/11/2019

On own. As others parked in lay-by on Fillongley Road (B4102) at edge of wood/arable field. Faint path through bracken and brambles in pleasant deciduous wood to hp where I tripped over the stump! Only found through use of my GPS with OS grid ref as all fairly flat and reading shows no metres of climb from road!Beeliner02/10/2019

Parked in handy lay by to the East at SP260846. Found tree stump and wandered in brackeney woods. Hard to pinpoint high point.David Evans12/08/2019
Small dirt layby W side road SP 2607 8463. HP about 100m into woods, somewhere in the 185m co.jonglew23/07/2019
From the lay-by on the E side of the road to the overgrown path through the wood on the W side, and thence to the stump.Nick Down121/07/2019
Parked in a lay-by at the edge of the wood, walked through said wood for a metre or two to gain access to the field and then walked up to the grid ref and tree stump.WAYNE ROWLETT01/07/2019

Millison's Wood to Meriden. Gates & signage on local ROWs are generally in very good repair, but other than HoE Way, they are frequently obstructed by (brambly) vegetation indicative of little usage.Smudge23/03/2019

7th top of 8 on a predominantly Worcestershire car tumping route, visiting Swines Hill, Rous Lench Hill, Moreton Hill, South Crest, Newborough and Moorgreen. Managed to park in layby just before the potholes and fallen branches from a nearby pine tree. Easy access into wood and then verge to visit tree stump by fence but thought highest point lay further into the wood so recalibrated GPS to 185m then trudged through the brambles and bracken to investigate, recording 186m @ SP 25976 84603 and 187m @ SP 26005 84603; these points are outside the highest contour ring on OS maps. Os names the wood enclosed to the South as Stocked Wood and this summit appears to be in Boultbees Wood, Meighs wood is over to the East of the road. Continued to pass over Coventry U/A's top at Corley Moor before heading back home. Beware on the road as all the cars were speeding along it!Dazingdale26/01/2019

Short walk from layby, easy enough if one steps out of wood onto field edge, along a bit then back into wood at tree stump.Aye Jimmy16/08/2017

A bramble tripwire felled me too! Commando training (not) kicked in as I rolled on landing. However its such a short walk from the layby that I half considered unleashing excess energy down the road at the Heart of England Adventure Park where (for a fee) you can have unlimited use of their bouncy kingdom.Chris Pearson23/03/2017

Bracken not too bad apart from the trip hazard. Not sure stump is any higher than ground nearer lay by.Bramley12/11/2016
