Over gate to alternative point in field. Then through pedestrian gate to trig on Access Land. Visited large cross, then back to car along Bogguard Road. Solo.Dangerous Dave17/12/2023

Short round walk along the byway and bridleways. Visited possible HP in field and trig point, big cross and quarry which has a nice neb of rock with a steep hand jamming challenge.Nick Canute11/02/2022
1 of 6 on 23 mile bike ride starting in broadbottom. Cold start which made this quite a slog in the hailstone especially been out of action on the bike since last summer. 5 mile uphill from the startThe-Z-Man10/02/2022

Up from Marple via the Cown Edge Way and the BOAT. NE top is 3m higher than TP on my GPS. Down via Linnet Clough. Rude golfer questioned our right to walk on ROW over golf course. Otherwise a lovely walk.Peter_W_Mitchell 26/09/2020
From the junction of Bogguard road and Primrose lane followed ROW up the lane then turned right to the gate leading up to the trig. Thirty minutes tops for the one and half miles.WAYNE ROWLETT05/07/2020
Via byway to west. Included NE top but seems lower.Wycombe Wanderer15/06/2020
Repeat visit. A long morning's walk with L and the dogs on another sunny day from the door. Lots of lovely wooded countryside and industrial historical interest around Marple with the canal / aqueduct / flight of 16 locks, railway cutting, and ruins of Samuel Oldknows cotton mill and Roman Lakes by the River Goyt - then a good stiff pull up past the scout camp, manicured golf course, to the cross(newly replaced 2 years ago and well guyed down)on the gritty spoil nose from the small gritstone quarry behind, then to trig summit with fine views to Kinder -clear as bell views today and also over the sprawl of Greater Manchester. Also went to alternative field summit. Then walked all the way home again.Chris Pearson20/04/2020

There and back again from the Devonshire Arms.BobHancock13/03/2018
Parked at very end of the lane, where it says 'No Parking', local dog walker said it would be ok... What a strange 'cross', it's actually a 'T', heavans knows what it's supposed to be. Trig pillar at summit.jonglew23/01/2018
Parked at the south end of the lane and left Barbara to tend to the car in case anybody local complained. Lots of No Parking and Private signs. However, it was dusk on a Sunday so nobody about. Along the lane, over a wall, an electric fence with no power on, another and then to the trig. Far easier way back down a muddy path. and up the road.Campbell Singer26/11/2017
Circular walk with John from his house in Marple Bridge that also took in the Picking Rods. Lovely day, shame about the mud...Richard19/11/2017
No parking at end of lane, so park in lane near Hay for Sale, but not opposite the access gate and walk 200m to crossroads below the cross. Up very Stoney track, through metal gate to trig. Back via cross.Minto04/11/2017
On a walk from Strines station to Birch Valealistairpooler01/10/2017
Parked on lane to north west of summit where there is a short widened section. Seems to be for vehicles turning right out of farm opposite but it seems to be long enough to park at the farthest end and still allow for farm vehicles turning. From here a very short stroll.ijpowell30/09/2017

A short deviation from the Pennine Cycleway. Easy access from Black Lane byway via gate in wall. Trig point at high point in 12m diameter circle of rocks. Good views. Also visited field with 327m spot height on N side of lane.RichardM06/05/2017

Climbed over fence and was at trig. Visited alternative spot height just off Black lane then took Primrose lane and Pole lane taking fp to the Packhorse Inn where i got collected by Pam for my Airbnb stay in New MillsDazingdale10/12/2016

Finally parked at the road junction - 997882. Walked WSW - then Primrose Lane - Black Lane. There is a metal gate off this track and a short path directly to the summit. Great views of N. Cheshire and Manchester.bolton07/10/2015
Parked near farm gates and dashed up past the cross, through the quarry to the trig point. No view unfortunately as the morning mist had not yet cleared.mcallmar27/09/2015
Walked up from the Roman Lakes. Fond memories of camping at Linnet Clough, made a mental note to hire a buggy if ever to play golf at Mellor. Had lunch by the cross with great views out over Manchester. Even better views of Kinder and the Peak District from the trig. Probably not been up there for 30+ years but will visit again.W111KYB20/09/2015
