Short detour off A1 along A64 during drive North from Suffolk. Arrived after dark so parked in front of gate to WSW as access unlikely for short time will be parked. Climbed over wooden fence next to gate and walked up track to trig pillar then into field to summit. Pitch black could make out rise in ground with help from gps. No feature just grass. | mntainman | 04/12/2019 |
On own. As others along track from W. past water tower and into open field with sign indicating Askham College land to obvious mound. Then to trig point on lane and back. Not sure why initial gate from minor road is securely padlocked with CCTV sign and anti vandal paint as OS Map inicates green dot meaning 'other routes with public access'. | Beeliner | 11/08/2019 |
As others, from the west. A late evening visit. | PGCE | 20/07/2019 |

Parked at white houses a few mts from start of track. Along track and into field. Interesting water tower which could be a converted windmill. Could this be the hp and not the field? From there to excellent Christmas market in York for the afternoon with Barbara. Brownie points accumulated. | Campbell Singer | 03/12/2017 |
Prior to an afternoon's visit to York's excellent Christmas market. | Barbara Singer | 03/12/2017 |

13 bus from York station to Copmanthorpe, then a quick walk to bag it. I don't recommend doing it this way as you have to cross a very busy road. Best to park at the Buckles Inn at the foot of the hill. | Richard | 17/03/2017 |

Easy parking at end of track to west, near mast. Although no RoW on map, stile by gate to enter land and no keep out signs. Easy access into field with obvious summit mound. Trig is lower in lane itself. Muddy. | Hillsidenick | 24/05/2014 |
Easy walk up lane from road just as it started to rain. | catman | 22/03/2014 |
Easy 300m walk up lane from WSW past water tower and mast. Gate into field with raised section ahead, half buried stone may be highest point. Trig in lane. | Aye Jimmy | 28/03/2013 |
Can park for a short period at the western end of the lane leading to the trig point (Lane widens out enough to create a pull-in).

From the trig point the raise in the field to the north appears higher, however, from this raise the trig point .........You pays your money and takes your choice. Total bagging time from the road is about 10 minutes. | moorsman | 18/12/2012 |
Flying visit on journey south. Bump in field highest, alongside the minster can also see the York 'eye'. Fine day between showers. | nordicstar | 11/09/2012 |
Torrential rain and nowhere practical to park so content with a relay over the two gates and up the lane towards the agricultural college. | Newton Maximus | 10/07/2012 |

Visited on bike ride to bag trig as well. | stever | 26/06/2011 |
Parked by gate at west end of track and walked to the trig point. Diverted onto the mound in the field as this was higher. Good starting point would have been the pub on the A64 for easy parking and a drink afterwards.... it's a long long walk, honest! | Nick | 23/06/2011 |
