| By the sound of it I went up the same way as Alan (deer have made the fallen trees bit easy to negotiate now), then down the same way as Rod and Lindsay (track not too boggy now, despite a wet few days). | From Carie, tried east side of hill, track ok and first part of firebreak good but then fallen trees blocked the way and I had to fiddle a way through the trees. Tussocks not bad on east side but not good on west. Nice heather and rock summit area, fine view, awful descent west for 500m through bog and trees, missed firebreak I was aiming for. | alda | 20/10/2019 |
| From the N, Carie Forest: Track (E side of the Allt na Bogair) to 440m then L through trees - rough and wet underfoot - and up onto the open ground beyond, which was an improvement but still fairly lumpy grass and heather.
