Good track along by fence from Ben Gullipen. Solo.Dangerous Dave09/03/2024
From CP at NN 617047. Track to Ben Gullipen. Good path continues from here to topcarole engel17/06/2023
From Gullipen, returned contouring via the col but boggy and probably not much quicker.Nick Canute17/04/2023
Climbed in round trip via ridge from Nether Glenny Farm as we were staying in one of the SC cottages thereSpudGunn09/03/2023
Parked at the layby opposite the track entrance. Straight up the track to the transmitter, passing by docile cows. Reasonable path to the summit through the heather. Lovely views all around on a bright, breezy, mild lunchtime after morning rain. Returned picking up a faint path on the SE side of Ben Gullipen returning to the track at the zigzag. With PJ and AM. 1000th Marilyn.Owen B15/02/2023

Ben Gullipen and Beinn Dearg from A81. Quite dry underfoot today.RobertP24/06/2022
From Callander via tracks to Ben Gullipen then obvious but boggy path. Descended via Lochan Balloch and path beside outflow burn to reach Rob Roy Way back to Callander.davidpettit8431/12/2021
Using #gill’s v clear description, up and past the mast, where most folks will end their walk. Beyond that , v v boggy and muddy Knee high rushes….VerySlowPlodder01/11/2021
Easy walk up the track to Ben Gullipen from good car park opposite start of track. A clear path continues along the fence towards Beinn Dearg, then goes either over or round the 371m bump and continues up the valley parallel with the Beinn Dearg ridge; just keep going and you'll see an easy grassy path up onto the ridge continuing on to the top. Great views. The path is so easy, I just went back the same way over Ben Gullipen. Don't expect dry feet though, although good, it's pretty soggy.Gill24/10/2021
A short walk to take in this Marilyn after an earlier walk in woods near Loch Ard with the Stravaigers group.langskill14/06/2021
Parked on the A81 north of Loch Rusky, followed the track up to the transmitters on top of Ben Gullipen, then headed west through the boggy dip and up to Beinn Dearg. I retuned to the track after passing between Ben Gullipen and Letter Hill. Sunny evening (started at 16:15), back to the car at 18:45.chillyman809/04/2021
From Ben Gullipen. Rough descent to bealach then wet (but mostly frozen) quad bike track most of the way up. Returned using pass between Ben Gullipen and Letter Hill to phone mast track - would have been very wet if not partly frozen.TRG31824/12/2020

After Gullipen, then back down main forestry track. With F.sclater11/10/2020
From East Lodge car park to end of forest track then directly up through woods onto hill.Winterfloodian25/09/2020
Parked near start of a track at NN616047. Reasonable parking. 40 mins to Ben Gullipen then 30 mins more to marilyn summit. We felt we did this at a reasonably quick pace. Only 5-10 mins less on descent.willyross22/01/2020
From Callander, over bridge to signposted forest track at 627074. Signposted path leads all the way to Ben Gullipen. Quick easy forest track walking. Then followed path along the ridge down to a col, best to stay left on ATV track from the col around the LHS of Ben Dearg until the ATV track meets a path going up hill to the summit(taking off too early as we did is very rough heathery ground). To return returned back down the path and ATV track to the col, then lft through the gap towards the lake, walked clockwise around the loch to the outflow stream. Followed a path down the RHS of the stream for a few hundred metres until it met a path that led to the Rob Roy way and walked down the side of Loch Venachar to Kilmahog, then along the old railway line to Callander (with a refreshment stop in the Laid in in Kilmahog). 18.9km circuitJulieB29/12/2019
From 616047 (7:55) followed track to Ben Gullipen then along ridge across col to summit. Path and faint ATV track most of the way. Fine and warm with fair views. Return by same route; finish 9:50dbb25/08/2019
Had to start from Balvalachlan due to unhelpfully vague road diversion signs foiling efforts to reach NN616047. At NN629059 a finger-post pointed along an unmapped track going NE, with the words Ben Gullipen 2 3/4 miles - I didn't risk it. TR from Ben Gullipen, nothing steep encountered. A tempting 'path' over the intermediate mound faded out in Ruff'n'Tuff, whereas an unseen path goes L, curling down the S flank, to join an ATV track which leads almost to the summit. Pestered by flies all the way. Yet another lead-grey sky and thus yet another monochrome (and thus uninspiring) view. Has anyone seen the sun lately?Isbjorn25/06/2019
Solo trip. Probably the best view of Ben Ledi. Very steep off Ben Gullipen if you try going along the ridge. There is a path/ATV track in the valley just to S.Invicta1416/05/2019
With Malky and Jackie in loop with Monievreckie. Calm and decent views at first, raining heavily for last hour. Very warm. Rounsfell02/03/2019

Solo. Parked near the start of a track at NN616047 on A81 where there is parking for a few cars. Walked up the track, initially through forest and then open hillside. The track provides access to several masts on the summit area of Ben Gullipen. Highest point is reached by a stile at SW end of mast compounds. Continued to Beinn Dearg on path and then ATV track with a final little bit to the summit. Returned on track and followed it up to Letter Hill; it passes close to the highest point which is on the other side of a fence. Went up to the masts and down the access track back to the road. Fine weather and excellent views of Ben Ledi and many other hills.pwbellarby06/10/2018
Superb views, particularly northwards.summitter11/08/2018

From 617048 track to masts then followed the segments of boggy path to the summit. Nice walk. No cattle seen despite warning signs at last gate on track.assynt_bob14/10/2017

With Jenx from parking by gate at start of track to aerials/antenna. Straightforward with return to car in just over the hour.nordicstar17/12/2015
From the forest track, overlooking Letter. Went up a small path by the gully, mistake No. 1. Underestimated the distance to the trig, mistake No. 2. Returned to the track via the steep slope, mistake No. 3. Could it be worse?Play2End25/03/2015
To Beinn Dearg and back from locked gate on A81 in lovely sunny spring weather. Combination of landrover, single and ATV tracks. 2 hoursalexmaclennan24/03/2015
A81 track to masts then boggy path to the summit.robertphillips28/11/2014
With EKMC Arrived very early in Callender and was pleasantly surprised to find a cafe just opening. Enjoyed tea and toast and scrambled egg. They even brought me the Sunday papers to read. At 9am I set off to climb Ben gullipen and Beinn Dearg. Following the A81 passing the Bridgend Hotel to the junction, turned left and immediately picked up an excellent forest track, shown on the map as footpath. The track is signposted for Ben Gullipen and Loch Rusky. There are other signposts on route as well forest waymarkers pointing in the direct of Ben Gullipen. As you emerge from the forest the phone mast comes into view and there is a gate warning of Pedigree Highlanders on the hill. The mast is fenced off but follow it round and there is stile and now an overgrown boggy footpath which leads down and up to Beinn Dearg. No cairn or trig point on the summit but fantastic 360 degree views. Ben Ledi dominates the skyline. Loch Venachar sits below and Loch Achray is in sight with Ben Venue and Benmunromurph01/12/2013

Started at 614043, turned uphill too soon, bogged down in cuttings and heather. Back down SE ridge, then offer of ride in back of stalkers' van gratefully accepted! Probably better tackled from Loch Venachar.Topographer5728/10/2011

With: hb sb ab; We parked on A81 near NN617047 and followed the access track to the radio masts. From Ben Gullipen we crossed the rather boggy col before climbing to top of Beinn Dearg. We returned by the same route. Good views.Ian Baines01/06/2004
