Ascent of Gael Charn from Garva Bridge with Beinn Sgiath added on the descent. A day in the clag and descended due to a thunderstorm rather than continue to An Torr.welshyboyo24/06/2019

From Sherramore. Watched two deer cross the Spey as I crossed the bridge. By tracks great and small through the woodland to Meall and Domhnaich, then enjoyably along the ridge to Beinn Sgiath (the summit cairn is surprisingly difficult to find as broad, diverging slopes conceal it until quite close) and Geal Charn. An ATV track makes for a quick return to Sherramore.Nick Down104/08/2018
From Garva Bridge (NN 52218 94730). Followed path alongside Feith Talagain then alongside Allt Coire nan Dearcag for a short distance before heading up the broad ridge to the summit plateau. Path indistinct at times.david23020110/07/2018

43 - From Garva bridge. Struggled with this one. Very boggy pretty much all the way, and path non-existent in places. New utility company track is quite an eyesore to the West too.huwthomas08/08/2017

From Spey dam, over Markie Burn via new bridge (currently enclosed as a construction site - road apparently being built to west - might not be accessible if site closed), up Beinn Sgiath to Geal Charn, down to Glen Markie via lower parts of Piper's Burn, return along trackkdbennett01/04/2017

From Garva bridge. Sunshine, light wind and snow on top made this a easy but enjoyable walk.mindlessflogger29/03/2016
I had been deliberating for a long while over whether i had climbed this Munro back in the 70's or 80's, Therefore i refused to tick it until certain. Ascended from Garva Bridge where i had slept in the camper overnight. Dry but clagged in on the summit. Still none the wiser re: its legitimate date for ascent but at least its officially done now.thenomad06/10/2015

From Garva Bridge as rivers in spate precluded route via Glen Markie.davidpettit8431/12/2012
With Pam and Gary; Munro #50 for me. Lots of snow; lovely weather. Went up from Spey Dam - there is a brand new bridge low down over the Markie Burn. Saw An Dirc Mhor (impressive rift valley left by ancient landslip) then bypassed summit of sub-top Beinn Sgiath to reach Geal Charn summit. Back down by craggy eastern corrie, fording Markie Burn high up. Surprisingly scenic - better than Garva Bridge or Sherramore approaches.milngavie_kenny02/12/2012
266th - Solo - took school bus from hotel in Newtonmore to Laggan, walked up Glen Markie and over Bruach nam Biodag to summit. V. cold but dry day, poor visibility above 750m, met stalkers on descent.RGibbs14/11/2012
From Garva Bridge. The path comes and goes after you leave the river but reappears when it steepens. Getting off the summit plateau could be tricky in cloud.Roblex26/07/2012

Late evening ascent saw Mountain hare and Ptarmigan. Visited large summit cairn, no real views as summit in cloud and was unseasonably cold.isabelle29/08/2011
From Garva Bridge and up the south-west ridge in good conditions. A flat summit.Windy Corner25/07/2011
Parked at Garva bridge after a long single tracked road from Laggan. Followed the boring route up and down - back home I've noticed Cameron McNeish's route would have been better. Could be boggy after prolonged rain.Jhimmy24/04/2011
With Ian from Laggan. Lots of Deer in the Estatenickywood128/05/2010
With Brian. Encountered the phantom pick-up on the road to Garvabridge. Uneventful ascent up long ridge. Tough hike to second summit over pathless terrain. Good weather.gercal5323/05/2010
