| Not sure there will ever be a right time of year to do these three tops. If there is a path leading to the bealach between the C of M and the West top then I couldn't find it as I floundered through tussock and heather. Thankfully there are faint paths up to the top of each from the bealach. | From the Braeval car park. Up the transmitter track to 265m asl, then over the fence and bashed up through the thick heather. Couldn't see any viable routes leaving the track lower down. | From the Braeval forestry commission car park ... followed the tracks up to a point approx at grid ref 538014 where a path takes off to the right. Indistinct at first, but then a better path leading up through the woods to a gate. | Starting at the Braeval car park, near Aberfoyle and tacking the forestry tracks northwest toward the transmitter then up to Craig of Monievreckie West Top. There was a strong northerly wind as I made my way to Craig of Monievreckie proper, then east along the ridge to the North top and finishing on Creag a’ Bhacain. | Took track up from parking spot at 541008. Followed track up to the mast (at least where the mast is marked on the OS map though it doesn't seem to exist any more), went through a gate and followed sheep tracks for a while, a bit of heather bashing at one point then more intermittent tracks.Just before the final steep pull up to the summit which is very heathery it is worth contouring around below the summit to a valley between 2 tops where a defined path leads to the summit (however we only found this on the way down). Followed this path on the way down until it came to an end then a bit of cross country down the valley to the track at a lower point than we left it. Turned right went back up the path to the gate, then took a descent path (signposted steep descent but it wasn't that steep) down to a junction with a main track and a path. | Parked at forest walks car park (13:10) and followed path and then tracks to 538013. A path leaves the track about 50m before the bridge and goes up through the woods right of the stream to a gate and open country. The path continues pleasantly to the 393 top and the main summit. | Here for the trigpoint - Menteith Hill. TP:UK log: Took a route found on walk highlands which proved to be a excellent one. https://www.walkhighlands.co.uk/Forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=26171. Parking at NN 54148 00666 and taking forest trails to NN 53791 01321 where a small path leads up the side of the burn to a gate NN 53931 01488. From the gate you head up through the ferns to the spot height at NN 54357 01779 where your heart sinks as you have to descend and ascend back up to the trigpoint. | The Dugswell route, taking the forestry tracks up and the green route down. The start of the path by the stream is quite clear, in between baby sitkas and just before two broom bushes. The path is good all the way, clear of bracken and other vegetables. It is easy to follow over the south west top, down and then up to the summit. I made the mistake of trying a route down the valley, a tempting clear path at first, then a trying bracken bash to pick up the outward path before the gate. | From FC Braeval CP, NN541006. Followed 'green' markers, until they started to go downhill, then up L, below band of crags, on forest tracks. No sign of the reported 'path' so onwards and upwards to a T-Junction and a path R, to a 'steep slope ahead' sign. Then 600m along old fence, NE, until cut E across to base of re-entrant at NN544019, where a good path was found to summit. Descended this path to see where it went, but it expired in bogs just below the base of the re-entrant. A bash SW down bogs, heather, bracken, nettles, holes and ticks ensued until met forest fence where was forced up to a gate and the elusive 'path', which emerged, indistinctly, and unmarked, onto my upward forest track, at NN5378901312. Up this little path through trees and up on to the SW ridge. ThenSW-NE walk along all 4 Summits inc the Marilyn. | Solo. From Forestry Commission carpark at Braeval. Up path (marker pole with green band at start) that goes up to forest track that carries Rob Roy Way. Then forest tracks to NN537013. From there followed a narrow path going NE, as suggested by Dugswell. Took branch that goes round W side of Craig of Monievreckie West Top to col between West Top and main top and up to the summit of Craig of Monievreckie. Returned to the col and went up narrow path that goes over the West Top. Went to summit of West Top which is slightly to NW of path. Continued on path – it joins path used on ascent. | Glad I read HB reports first, or might have taken diretisimo route. New path signs, but no plan displayed. Followed green path (uphill branch after start) to upper forest roads. Then left and up round nose of hill to soft underbelly. Look for path on right (it was somewhat overgrown but still well defined and followable). My grid ref was NN 53790 01274. Path starts at a gully branching right from small forest road, going up ridge on left.
