From Gairbeinn. Great views and an interesting descent back to Melgarve on the Generals road. Mr Wade could certainly teach modern day road builders how to do the job properly and make it last. With Ger and John F.bolton07/11/2019

Fifth day of a trip to NW Highlands - climbed on return due to poor weather. From Melgarve. From Gairbeinn. An unremarkable hill. The power lines spoil this landscape rather a lot! We did not have a view from the summit, but did for most of the ascent. With DW & SL.AGWilliamson23/09/2014

Solo. From Garva Bridge walked on the old military road which goes over Corrieyairack Pass. At NN420986 ascended to Corrieyairack Hill. Then over Geal Charn, Gairbein, points 870m, 786m, 758m, Meall na h-Aisre. The descent was beside Allt Coire Iain Oig to reach Garva Bridge. Weather good. A bit slow due to peat hags. Note added 2016: my records clearly show that I went over both the old and new positions of the summit.pwbellarby01/07/1995
