3/6 A tough but amazing mountain day in the rugged fringes of Knoydart. Left the car with many others along the end of the public road at the west end of Loch Arkaig. Biked from there past Strathan, Glendessary Lodge to Upper Glendessary, altogether saving 10km of walking. Followed the usual track up the steep ridge of Sgurr nan Coireachan via its South Top, then steeply down to the Bealach and along the lovely rocky ridge over Garbh Chioch Bheag (and its E Top) and up to the second Munro Garbh Chioch Mor. Then steeply down to the next Bealach and up to the stunning Sgurr na Ciche, the highlight of the day. Finally, the long walk back, initially down the incredibly steep gully and then by the easy but never ending track back to the very welcome bike at Upper Glendessary. A perfect day for the hills with extensive all round views of the west Highlands and Islands. Altogether 27km with 1600m ascent, taking 10h 20m.silveracorn_alan03/06/2022

I reached Sgurr na Corieachan at last at 1205. I had a roll, took some photos and then moved off. The descent to the col was straightforward - an obvious track to follow, albeit with care on the steep descent, then it was a very long slow pull up Garbh Chioch Beag alongside the amazing stone wall.langskill12/06/2015
First day of a five-day trip with DW & SL. Glendessarry - Sgurr na Ciche - Garbh Chioch Mhor - Sgurr nan Coireachan - Glendessarry. A very humid day, with no wind across the summits.AGWilliamson19/09/2014

After a bivvy in upper Glen Kingie at NM948953. A friend with had to return for work commitments so I left on my own at 04:25. Went up to the col and then to An Eag (873m). I continued to Sgùrr nan Coireachan (953m). There are bits of scrambling but the rock was dry. I continued westwards although the rock was damp or wet and care was needed. I reached the summit of Garbh Chioch Beag (968m), Garbh Chioch Mhòr (1013m) and Sgùrr na Ciche (1040m). The weather had remained dry.pwbellarby24/06/2005

W MVW from Strathan - cycled up track as far as NM931934. Walked out to Sgurr na Skine, and back along ridge right out to Sgurr Mor, and all tops, contoured back around to col above bikes from between An Eag and Sgurr nan Eag and returnnordicstar03/05/1997
RS. From Strathan through Glen Dessarry to the track end at Allt Coire nan Uth by MTB. Via Sgurr na Ciche, Garbh Chioch Mhor, Sgurr nan Coireachan to Sgurr Mor & return through bealach (945951). A fine mild day.Vin03/05/1997
From Strathan with Martin66, Davy Bell & GregH. Significant accumulations of snow on S facing slopes but less on the ridge lines. Misty on summmits. Slogged directly up the S spur of Sgurr nan Coireachan. At top, parted ways as other 3 headed off for Sgurr Mor whereas I turned W to pick up Garbh Cioch Mor & Sgurr na Ciche. Back down to the Glen Dessary track with some difficulty due to the depth of the snow. (And again on 15/09/09 with Smithy from Strathan.)NotReallyABagger29/03/1997

Cairngorm Club meet based at Barrisdale Bothy. Alone. I went via the path up Gleann Unndalain and Lochan nam Breac to the west end of Loch Quoich. I followed a path up Coire nan Gall, which continues intermittently beyond that shown on the OS 1,5000 map. Then up beside Allt Bealach na h-Eangair, with some deviations to avoid crags, to reach the bealach between Sgurr na Ciche and Garbh Chioch Mhor. Climbed up to the summit of Sgurr na Ciche and back, and went on to Garbh Chioch Mhor, Garbh Cioch Bheag, and Sgurr nan Coireachan. After an attempt to find a route to Druim Buidhe I returned to the summit and went down the south west ridge to Bealach Coire nan Gall and hence to Coire nan Gall and the west end of Loch Quioch, returning to Barrisdale by my outward route. Mist above 400-500m all day.pwbellarby12/07/1981
