From the forest road to the SE, on route to Nether Oliver Dodd; return by same route. | benalder284 | 02/01/2024 |
Parked off A701 at gated forest road entrance SW of Tweedsmuir. Track all the way out of the forest, then grass to trig. Solo. | Dangerous Dave | 15/12/2023 |
Started off at Kingtedores Farm and took the track to Hopehead. Very steep climb up to Coomb Hill and then pretty easy going to Gathersnow Hill, Hillshaw Head and Coomb Dod.
Decided to come back via the upper route: Glenwhappen Dod, White Knowe Head, Glenmuck Height, Upper Oliver Dod and Nether Oliver Dod which was a bit of a tussocky trudge. | tsharp | 18/08/2023 |
From Tweedsmuir, up an old overgrown forestry track to the main logging route and quick walk over moorland to the summit/trig. | JAdair97 | 10/04/2023 |
Biked up the forestry track from A701 to near the top. | robertphillips | 11/02/2023 |
From Nether Oliver Dod. Picked up a swarm of several hundred flies, who kindly accompanied me on the hack through wet sponge, moongrass and deep heather to Glenwahappen Dod. | Wycombe Wanderer | 09/08/2022 |
From the forest track off A701. A winding track but gets you very close to the top | Andrew Simmons | 18/06/2022 |
Room to park at the track entrance south of Tweedsmuir. This fairly open forest track goes very near to the top of Upper Oliver Dod. I then followed the fence (wall) to Nether Oliver Dod. Descending from that you can see a break in the trees and the ascent track. So i took that option rather than heading straight down and then walking along the road. Longer but the open track is lovely walking and i hate walking on busy roads. | hils | 27/05/2022 |
Up from the forest road to the SE. Then on to Nether Oliver Dodd from where a direct descent to road. | NormanW | 11/02/2022 |
From Kingledores, parking on what looked like part of the old road (NT 1090 2810), through the farm and up to Glenlood Hill, Broomy Law, Coomb Hill, Gathersnow Hill, Hillshaw Head, Coomb Dod and Glewhappen Dod first then on to here. After, continued NE along the ridge to Nether Oliver Dod and return to the car at Kingledores for a pleasant 20k horseshoe round. | jonglew | 20/01/2022 |

Parked in wide entrance of forest track at 091241 - Up track to top of forest & then a short climb over rough grass to the trig point & ground 30m to N. which may be higher. Continued to Nether Oliver Dod. (S) | gerrybowes | 12/11/2019 |
Parked at the end of the forest track SW of Tweedsmuir. Pleasant walk up the track with good views much of the way. Short walk on grass from the forest edge to the summit. Continued to Nether Oliver Dod. | LizH | 08/09/2019 |

Up forest track just south west of Tweedsmuir on gentle inclines to just below Upper Oliver Dodd. Took in trig then down and up to Nether OLiver Dodd. Cut corner on return taking obvious break in trees. | SS | 29/04/2018 |
From Hopehead to the NW. Tried to follow the path shown on the map but only about half of it still exists and had to cross fences to reach it. It might be better to go straight up the hill from the dale. | Alan Moore | 01/12/2017 |
