Drove up as far as the horseshoe bend to SW. The whole area from where the FP should be to this point has been clear felled. The path no longer exists. From bend a solid track heads into the cleared area. Its a tad wet in places but not bad at all. I figured that the easiest way to tackle the hill would be head for the boundary and then follow the fence up to top. Wet but easy. As its been cleared theres a 360 degree view and my word does it feel remote. Not a sound. Decided to try my luck through the clear fell back to car and found a dry route all the way back. | stig_nest | 13/05/2016 |
From forest track SH975169, footpath to West does not exist went via pit and fire break but this soon disappeared. It was then heather and felled trees bashing to top. I have done worse.
