HP is just inside the wooded area over the wall but a nearby Standing stone ( SW) is impressive. Accessed from small carpark ( Scatts Bridge) and boggy track to S before continuing to White Ridge. Sleet, hail and sun. | Denise | 11/02/2018 |
From the S on good track past old settlement of walled lush green fields then up rough grass to standing stone. High point on N side of forest wall/fence. Good views, sunshine and hail showers. | RichardM | 11/02/2018 |

A long walk from Bellever, taking in Hameldon, Hockney Tor, Challacombe Down, Birch Tor, Assycombe Hill, White Ridge and Merripit Hill. After a pint at the Warren House, the day was too fine to end early so I added a few more hills on. Easy going but I find Fernworthy Forest very spooky and unsettling to walk near. | Jake994 | 01/08/2006 |
