Good parking area at start of private road to Loch an Nostarie, Glasnacardoch. Intermittent path follows old water pipes to Loch Eireagoraidh. Followed edge of loch then headed uphill on grassy slopes to the summit from the southeast. Solo.Dangerous Dave17/04/2023
From Glasnacardoch via path to Lochs an Nortarie and Eireagoraidh before slanting upwards to ascend complex craggy ground to right of the obvious nose. Complex ground probably best left for day with clear visibility. Descent via easier open grassier slopes to E and then contoured round to pick up path on N side of the loch. Stunning views from this one!benalder28420/03/2022
From old Mallaig Road & track north of Loch clockwise circuit cutting across the land to come up it from western end. This meant coming down the southern end which was much more difficult and tricky than I'd imagined. Complex craggy terrain. Had to climb back up and forced further east before I could eventually pick my way with some difficulty than the South Ridge and then slightly southwest to eventually get down to the Western end of the Loch. Then up the southerly Marilyn over equally tricky complex terrain. It got dark on me and I had to spend 3 hours getting off the hill directly north and down to the log and then along in the dark in the dark.vegibagger29/09/2021
From Glasnacardoch to Loch Eireagoraidh, then an anti-clockwise spiral to approach the summit from the NNW. A long route but easy without crags.Pete R05/07/2020

From Glasnacardoch, parking just N of junction, NM675955. Good path, 1.5km, to picnic table and galv. gate, NM687958. At gate, key marker post for N path is 15m away, NE, completely obscured by a tree - the lower path is poorly defined and, after 35 days of precipitation, the Allt a Bhainne was in spate. The upper path is well defined, churned up by a TLV, both paths waterlogged. Looked at the nose, but decided there was too much dead ground which could waste energy route finding - so chose easy ascending TR, R, across E flank, steepening, up An Tx and grass nibbled lawn-short by sheep.Isbjorn17/06/2019

Parking and route as Nigel M. Off hill to the east. Cold, sharp wind and sunny.iangalbraith26/11/2018
From Glasnacardoch lower path, good at first, then a soggy ATV track, then a better path to Loch Eireagoraidh. Direct up the nose from the loch on short, dry grass, very steep but easy, following sheep tracks to dodge the crags. Down eastwards and then south to the loch. Bad weather blowing in, so I beat a hasty retreat in a gale and torrential rain. A hill best done in good visibility, to dodge the crags successfully.Gill11/10/2018
With Pauli and Nieves by obvious route on heatwave day, blue skies. Freed trapped lamb. Rounsfell29/05/2018
Bagging by train. From Mallaig station up to Glascarnoch and usual route to summit. Then on to Sgurr an Eilein Ghiubhais before traversing to Sgurr Bhuidhe. Blustery but great visibility. 20.6kNormanW19/05/2018
From Glasnacardoch, parking just before road goes over railway. Lower path starts just below passes Croft. Excellent path to Loch an Nostarie. Cut up to upper more boggy path. Steeply up threading through crags to summit. Sadly Vanessa is no more, in pieces no signs of spider or plate. Wall to wall sunshine, onto Sgurr Bhuidhe round the east end of Loch.N.Morters30/04/2018

Parked at 676957 at the turn off for Glasnacardoch. Walked beautiful southern most path to edge of Loch an Nortarie and on to Loch Eireagoraidh. One deer fence to out wit at a corner. Took eastern slopes to summit and returned the same way. Windy clear day with some of the finest views in Britain from the summit.mindlessflogger27/02/2018
round of carn a ghobhair, squrr bhuidhe, cruach bhuidhe, cruach clachan, beinn nan caorach, from glasnacardoch driving wind/snow showers and deep snow on the ground made it a hard day.robertphillips29/12/2017
Per nordicsar. Note that there is a car park about 50 metres north of the path signposted to Loch Nostarie, and a small gate down fence from the dodgy and almost useless stile under the deer fence. Hill terrain rough and steep, allow more the 5 hours.Topographer5701/05/2017
From the lower Glasnacardoch path. The upper track is wet and boggy. Fillowed the road then good track to Loch an Nostarie. Good line thereafter following old water pipe coming down from Loch Eiragoraidh. Indistict in just one place. Deer fence with a dodgy stile them path continues to upper lochan. Steep turn to left to climb Carn an Ghobhair. Steep summits but grassy rakes to obvious summit. Down and around east end of Eiraghoraidh before direct line up Sgurr Bhuidhe. Complex top, route finding in mist without GPS would be tricky, several cairned tops. Down the main drainage line to North to Loch and back same way in just under 5 hrs. Good walk.nordicstar31/08/2016
A good little mountain circuit. Interesting terrain.jenx31/08/2016
From Glasnacardoch, very wet under foot, found way up from SW and then to East of ridge to reach summit cairn. With A.PeterD22/07/2016

Started from Glasnacardoch car parking area, finished at Mallaig town car park and went via Carn a'Ghobhair and Sgurr Bhuidhe. Route and write-up at: http://gayleybird.blogspot.co.uk/2015/05/carn-aghobhair-and-sgurr-bhuidhe.htmlGayle07/05/2015
Solo. From car park at Glasnacardoch. Along good path to Loch an Nostarie. Thereafter path not at all good. Approached summit from east side to avoid crags - no difficulties. Minor scramble to summit point which is cairn on rock with bits of trig on outward journey but this was a mistake - very boggy indeed in places.pwbellarby06/04/2015

[trig gone pre 84, fragments remain] superb rocky hill, outstanding view to Skye, Small Isles, Knoydart, fine approach on +/- good path. glasnacardoch to W, tk past hotel RHW20/05/2012
From Glas na Cardaich there is a tarmac path to the first loch and then a boggy one to the next. Took direct route up the SW \'ridge\', then down to the other end of Loch Earache for Sgurr Bhuidhe. Misty above 200 metres.Martin R10/03/2012
very windy day but clear, v rugged hill.tom smith01/04/2011
Walked in from my holiday let at Glasnacardoch. Once to the N of Loch Eireagoraidh headed to the top over easy ground. Decided to descend directly to the west as the weather was perfect.garyhoney17/06/2010
Parked in small car park at Glasnacardoch. Under railway by cottages on gravel path to Loch an Nostarie. Well trodden path led to a rugged pass between today's 2 hills. Left uphill over steep tussock. No indication of human path. Snow flecks. Eventually to summit area to decide which of 2 or 3 tumps was the top. 2 or 3 ways to get higher but way blocked by sheer rock faces. Retraced steps twice moving further west to clamber up a third green crack to a very confusing rock covered area and to top at 12.45. Small pile of stones on a grey and white boulder. No possible way back the way I had come up. To S Buidhe.arranc27/05/2010
