The Mosedale Horseshoe from Wasdale Head Car Park. Visited: Looking Stead, Pillar, White Pike (first time on this remote Synge), Black Crag, Scoat Fell, Steeple, Great Scoat Fell, Red Pike (Wasdale), Black Crag, Yewbarrow North Top, Yewbarrow, and finally my first scramble up Bell Rib on the way down. A perfect day, the Lakes at its best. Cloudless skies, and glorious views – both near and far. 20.8km with 1430m ascent in 8 hours. (S)silveracorn_alan26/08/2021

From Pillar Rock. Lingered awhile in the sunshine on the summit of Pillar, said goodbye to Paul and made the short descent to another Wainwright-recommended minor summit and of course he wasn't wrong. Back up the boulder field to Pillar and hugely enjoyable walk along the summit ridge to Kirk Fell. About 14 degrees, no wind and not a cloud.Wycombe Wanderer17/09/2020
In thick mist. A contract to the heat in the valley. A long climb up for my penultimate Synge. From Wasdale Head. With R And B.jenx12/07/2019
Short spur on Wasdale head to Pillar walk. Feint path down NW ridge of Pillar (the Ennerdale route) nice grass to start then awkward boulders. Back up same way. Bonus to bag one of the more remote Synges on a lovely and rare sunny warm walk in February.Hillsidenick25/02/2019

Solo, running fr Bowness Knott car park; fresh snow, lovely sunshine. Good progress from Haycock via Steeple over Pillar. Descended ridge NW from Pillar then WNW from here into forest, then bog, and finally tracks back to car and nice B&B in Rowrah.NorfolkPT2107/01/2018
Parked in Bowness car park by Ennerdale Water, Black Sail Hut, Windy Gap, Great Gable, Kirk Fell, Looking Stead, Pillar, White Pike. Mostly sunny and warm day with excellent views from Windy Gap back over Ennerdale and Great Gable, though Pillar covered in mist with no views from summit. This was one of my longest day walks.Fell_wanderer22/08/2017

We climbed from Wasdale Head, via a higher alternative path next to Black Sail Pass, to Looking Stead then the 'high level route'to Robinson's Cairn for a look at the damp conditions on Pillar Rock, so left for a better day. Up to pillar then down to White Pike then back to Pillar and Wasdale Head.Dugswell216/08/2014
As Dugswell. With Rob, Iain, Carole, Anton, Phil. Good to pick up this remaining top. Miserable day by time back at Wasdale head. Pint in the bar relieved matters though.nordicstar16/08/2014
Group of us up from Wasdale Head, damp and windy so no chance of the intended Pillar Rock. After Pillar, down NW ridge then back up and along Pillar E ridge picking off a few tops.RHW16/08/2014
With Jo, walk from Wasdale Head: Black Sail Pass, Looking Stead, Pillar, White Pike (good profile view of Pillar Rock en route), return the same way. High cloud, occasional sunny intervals, warm, good visibility.amblerbob08/07/2013

From Pillar summit down via White Pike summit for Synge and nasty decent down White Pike gully to Ennerdale -looking for a quick way off Pillar for my 24 marilyns in 24 hours attempt (not this way I decided) then linked grass for a direct ascent of High Crag.W Lesley & Mike FChris Pearson30/04/2005
