Stiff breeze. CoolerSkagglavar07/05/2023
With Dave W on third day of trip from Affric. Wind gusting to c45mph at times, very cold. Bright with weak sunshine. Lots of softened nevee in places unavoidable. Carried on E over pinnacles then down over soft drifts into glen to S and out to road. Rounsfell02/04/2023
From Strawberry Cottage. Ascent via Coire Leachavie on stalkers path. Then on to Mam Sodhail and Carn Eighe. Returned to coll then contoured around Mam Sodhail and went over to Ciste Dubh before desending north west to pick up path to Bealach Coire Ghaidheil. Then down to track through the glen and back to Strawberry Cottage.Fife Walking27/07/2022

From a very cold sunless tented camp at NH101284. Directly up to Bealach Beag, Beinn Fhionnlaidh, back to Bealach Beag, NW ridge to Carn Eige, back to Bealach Beag and back to camp, re-located N to a sunnier camp.Isbjorn Winter Round19/03/2022
Affric car park to beinn fionnliad via mam sodhail and return. Mist but some great sunny moments with broken spectre.cjo30/10/2021
Re-visit. Very fine mountain. Some mist hanging about, but cleared later for a glorious afternoon. Came up from the Chisholm Bridge car park, continued over Mam Sodhail and went down via Sgurr na Lapaich.dal26/07/2021

A round of Gleann nam Fiadh taking in all the Munros and tops. Weather sadly misty all day and extremely wet underfoot in the valley. With B and R.jenx22/10/2020
Finally to Shurr na Lapaich after many years wanting. Dross weather tho. From Affric CP to Affric lodge and good track to 500m. Rough walking to ridge path at 800m. Continued over Mullach Cadha Rainich to Mam Sodhail in deteriorating weather, not the improvement forecast. After Carn Eighe took the next five MTs in rain, hail and low cloud. Dropped off ridge before Tom a Choinnich steeply to lower burn in spate. No crossing back to Affric lodge so all way down left side of burn to road by new hydro scheme and a mile back up valley to van.nordicstar22/10/2020
3/5 - second day - from wild camp at western end Loch Mullardoch. Wind dropped. Midge-mania on breaking camp. 2 river crossings to round the lake then steep ascent to first summit. Hard to escape midges, until peristent rain started at 11AM - continued all day - took 12.5 hours back to car - lots of ascentwychwood27/07/2020

Third summit, glorious day now.Chris Blake30/07/2019
Long day into the wilds. Camped at Iron Lodge especially to do this peak. Very wet and boggy involving two river crossings with boots and trousers off. Went straight for the top, no paths up the side of the mountain - up and own due to numerous streams cut into the side. Path on top coming from Glen Affric.Snowing on top in August. No views from top but cleared on the way down to make it all worth while.peter06/09/2018
With E. Parked at Glen Affric forestry commission car park. Along track past Affric Lodge > path up by Allt Coire Leachavie > Mam Sodhail > Carn Eighe and return same route. The descent off Mam Sodhail to Carn Eighe is steep and trickier than it looks on the map so contoured around on return journey. Weather superb after brief early shower giving excellent views. A tough day.Beeliner30/08/2018

Track near Affric Lodge N, then W across moorland to Sgurr na Lapaich, along ridge via Mullach Cadha Rainich to Mam Sodhail, then N to Beinn Fhionnlaidh (contouring past Carn Eige on W side), via Stob Coire Lochan, returned over Carn Eige, then along E ridge over Stob a' Choire Dhomhain, Stob Coire Dhomhnuill, Sron Garbh, then descended to Gleann nam Fiadh to follow track out, but it was in such poor condition that I crossed the river and took the track S direct back to Affric Lodgekdbennett17/06/2018

Carn Eighe Round from Glen Affric visiting Mam Sodhail, Carn Eighe, Stob Coire Lochan, Beinn Fhionnlaidh, and back to An Socach East Top, and An Socach. Then a long trek back to the car! A splendid walking day. Dry and calm with sunny intervals. 40km with 2200m ascent, taking over 11 hours.silveracorn_alan26/08/2017

Climbed solo. Walked from Glen Affric hostel down valley to Coire Ghaidheil bridge (where I had left my bike previous day). Climbed up stalkers path to Bealach Coire Ghaidheil and thence continued on sloping/traversing path to the north-east. This eventually peters out in a steep rocky area to the SW of Mam Sodhail, where I continued the traverse (rough going!) to reach the bealach south of Carn Eighe. Ascended Carn Eighe. Originally intended to continue north to Beinn Fhionnlaidh, but time was short, so I returned south to bealach, thence southwards over Mam Sodhail and Ciste Dhubh (fine cairn) before heading west to meet the ascent path. Retraced my ascent back down to Glen Affric, cycling the last 2 miles to the hostel. Weather dry but mist over 1000m stubborn to clear until very late in the day. Excellent views east from Carn Eighe and saw a brocken spectre on Mam Sodhail. These are giant, remote mountains - very friendly in benign weather, but could be horrible in bad conditions! jamessteel10021/08/2016

South East to path above Loch Affric and back to car park. 16.5 miles, 9H 40M.callumorr21/07/2016

Second Munro of the day. Warm and sunny.Play2End03/07/2015
Revisited for trig. From Forestry car park at W end of public road: £2 for day. Down via Sodhail. Had planned to climb this peak with Edward Earl when he was over (7)July 2013 from the USA but it somehow didn't work out. Was shocked to learn that he was drowned today while crossing an Alaskan river. RIP Edward - a huge loss to his many friends and to prominence-orientated climbers around the world.RHW20/06/2015

A 13.5 hour day on the three Munros and the east ridge from Glen Affric.chriswatson15/07/2014
Chris Watsons final few Munros trip with Alan dawson. second time for me. From Glen Affric,9.25 up the stalkers tarck between AnTudair and Sgurr na Lapaich. Alan and Chris going on ahead as I plod slowly upward, Alan with agenda of a number of high end GPS surveys data from various summits and cols. Notice the land the other side of the little indentation to the SE of the big round cairn looks marginally higher. Find a mimi cairn there and learn later that Alan had built it and that is 30-40cm higher than the cain base. Continue on to Carn Eighe and return back over Mam Sodhail because Chris was intending to go that way despite wanting to head out on the eastern Murdos ridge. back at car 21.09 for a very midgey wait for Chris who didn't arive til 22.50 !! and Alan dawson got back to the road 00.10!!vegibagger15/07/2014

Thick cloud meant no views. Had firstly traversed this Munro to Beinn Fhionnlaidh, then bagged this Munro. Descended by the east ridge and the pinnacles which are not as bad as I had thought, but it had started to rain and still in thick cloud.Jhimmy22/06/2014
