From end of Glen Affric Road. A round of Coire Coulavie. With B and R.jenx12/09/2022
With Jenx and Bryher walking in from Affric road head. Passed the lodge, onto only bridge over burn then old faint stalkers up to ridge and Creag Coire nan Each. Through heavy squalls and gusty winds that section. On round headwall, and two XMT before heading out to An Tudhair. Steep exciting descent to stalkers path and out.nordicstar12/09/2022

Climbed solo. Walked from Glen Affric hostel down valley to Coire Ghaidheil bridge (where I had left my bike previous day). Climbed up stalkers path to Bealach Coire Ghaidheil and thence continued on sloping/traversing path to the north-east. This eventually peters out in a steep rocky area to the SW of Mam Sodhail, where I continued the traverse (rough going!) to reach the bealach south of Carn Eighe. Ascended Carn Eighe. Originally intended to continue north to Beinn Fhionnlaidh, but time was short, so I returned south to bealach, thence southwards over Mam Sodhail and Ciste Dhubh (fine cairn - didn't deserve to lose status as a Munro Top!) before heading west to meet the ascent path. Retraced my ascent back down to Glen Affric, cycling the last 2 miles to the hostel. Weather dry but mist over 1000m stubborn to clear until very late in the day. Excellent views east from Carn Eighe and saw a brocken spectre on Mam Sodhail. These are giant, remote mountains - very friendly in benign wejamessteel10021/08/2016

Solo. From car park at road end in Glen Affric. After ascending Creag Coire nan Each. I went on to Stob Coire Coulavie, a deleted top, and Ciste Dubh, another deleted top. There are two tops on Ciste Dubh, the first having a cairn and a very steep drop on the east side. The second has no cairn and is about 1m higher. My 2003 edition of 1:50,000 map gives the height of the latter as 1108m. There is only a very small drop before the final climb up Solo. From car park at road end in Glen Affric. Had to abandon plan to bag Beinn Fhionnlaidh at this point as it would have meant walking back for miles into a gale. Instead,we walked to Loch Coulavie, relatively sheltered, and joined the track in Glen Affric back to Alltbeithe.pwheeler25/05/1999

With Jonathan Bellarby. After ascending Tom a’ Chòinich and Carn Eighe. We skirted to the west of the summit of Mam Sodhail (which we had been up the day before) to reach Ciste Dubh, Stob Coire Coulavie, and Creag Coire nan Each. The summit of the latter is at the north end of the summit plateau according to Munro’s Tables (1980) and not at the cairn as in the 1974 edition. Went to both. We made a very wet and steep descent to Loch Coulavie. Much snow on N facing slopes with many cornices.pwbellarby18/04/1982
