3rd of 4TuMPs and 5 SIBs on a trip with Loch Lomond Interesting Tours along with D Law, C Crawford, J Robertson and J Woods. Easy from beach on W side via burned down house. | Thearlaichdubh | 10/09/2022 |
Third Tump & second SIB with Jill. | Dugswell2 | 10/09/2022 |
3rd Tump, and 2nd SIB on a five island cruise from Aldochlay with ChrisB and EricY. From the ruined boathouse, up to the burned down house, then track becoming a path from E (uphill) side of the house. Saw three quite unconcerned wallabies. Down the more direct path to the boathouse. | Minto | 30/08/2022 |
Up a good track from the boathouse. Main house nearby has recently burnt down. Back to Aldlochlay on the kayak. | sclater | 09/07/2022 |
8 of 8 kayaking out from Luss. With Gooch. Landed at the boat house and had a wander through the ruins. Didn’t find any wallabies if there are any still here. Feeling the burn now | The-Z-Man | 14/04/2022 |
From Aldochlay via the two tops on Inchtavannach and lunch on Inchmoan. Loch flat calm and very quiet, few boats around although I had to negotiate a monster wake on the crossing back to Aldochlay. On the subject of wakes, distant boats looked like trains with their wakes refracted above the loch. Met a couple of wallabies on the way up from the east side of the island and was later invited aboard one of the big white boats for a beer - declined due to the lurgy, but thanks lads! | fasgadh | 28/11/2020 |
Third island of the day, paddling from Aldochlay. After grim bracken on Inchlonaig, this easy stroll was very welcome. Leven catchment completed | Colin Crawford | 24/07/2018 |
My third Island of Four today, visiting 5 tumps on an 8 hour Kayak hire from Luss, I landed on Inchlonaig to explore the 2 tops then en-route to Inchfad, cap-sized spending 1 1/2 hours in the water before eventually getting on to Inchruin. After walking around in a sem-derilious hypothermic state I headed over to Inchmoan and then through the Straits to land near abandoned jetty.
I saw a Wallaby bounding away through the woods!!
No problem finding highest point, marking it as NS 37471 91872 @ 54m. I took a different descent to get back to the Kayak for the short paddle over to Inchtavannach. | Dazingdale | 04/10/2017 |
Self-drive boat from Rowardennan, with Rob Woodall et al. From Inchlonaig; landed at old boat house. Short walk up to summit. Cairn possibly high point, but nearby outcrop is a contender. On to Inchtavannach. | jonglew | 03/06/2017 |
Outcrop, with cairn probably lower, would need to dismantle to be certain. Path from beach by old boathouse. Island #2 of 12 from Rowardennan. | RHW | 03/06/2017 |
Paddle from Cashel camp-site. | chalky1953 | 24/03/2017 |
Landed next to ruined boat house. Path up to summit cairn from there. | Lindsay M | 08/02/2015 |
