From layby at NG 8298 5134. Grassy path to tile at NG 8302 5127. Path thru' bracken, peters out. Very steeply up grassy SW flank to bealach.carole engel14/09/2023
From layby at corner of Loch Dughaill. Steep rough climb to the beallach (largely by deer fence then to summit of Ben Shieldaig, on to NW top (camped near here). Return along the ridge and continued to SE top and far SE top. Fine sandstone slabs on the ridge. Traversing descent back to start. Bright sunshine.RobertP19/04/2023
From large layby at SE corner of Loch Dughaill, over the deer fence by nearby stile, then followed deer fence, and intermittent tracks, up steep slopes to a small col (with another stile) at 450m, then NW along the ridge to the summit, returning same way (2h30m)kdbennett04/05/2022

2/2 With camping pack on hot sunny evening, setting of 6.20pm, to meet Malky and Jackie at top. Midges so bad we came back down again. Rounsfell27/08/2021
I wanted to extend the day so I started at the masts at 848 482 at the south end of the hill. The terrain was easy grass and rock and whilst the ridge undulated over the two south tops it was very pleasant. There were brilliant views all the way there and back.Peterb27/06/2021
After An Staonach in the morning drove to Loch Dughaill and parked at layby 828511. Steeply up on rough ground, meeting the deer fence at 300m which helped on further steep terrain. Took me longer to summit than anticipated. Down to col and followed deer fence down before taking a direct line back to car. My final Region 13 Marilyn.NormanW28/10/2019
From Loch Dughaill, very steep pull up to ridge roughly following deer fence. Then easier slopes to summit. Cloud low 400m, dry save last 20mins to car typical.N.Morters10/08/2019
Directly up from the north and on to Staonachlordtonult28/07/2018
From road bend at east end of Loch Dughaill. Over stile to gain same side of deer fence as summit, then up the fence and roughly east to higher fence, then along fence to stile where it crosses the ridge and north up the ridge to summit.Topographer5708/06/2018

From roadside (NG 8299 5135) with Steves Smith & Lewis. Steeply up snow-clad heather slopes. NW Top first, then on to the 2 SE tops. Dropped to the road and up onto An Staonach.jonglew11/02/2018
From Loch Dughaill. Steep and tussocks but direct. Followed line of deer fence higher up before turning north along broad ridge. Great viewpoint. Continued to the two southern summits.Campbell Singer22/10/2017

W Jenx, parked Shieldaig village, cut onto hill at GR 817536 and steeply up heather slopes and small crags direct up end. At higher crag cut right (S) and make tricky traverse up steep ground to outflank. Over top to gain main summit with cairn on outcrop.nordicstar09/12/2012
Form Meall Dubh end, up the long ridge. Hot, sunny and calm.iangalbraith14/04/2010
Parked at entrance to marine farm. Past a fishing hut for 3/4 m to Loch Damh. On a deteriorating track to a small shack by the shore. Up into very rough tussock moor and a trek into a wide bealach under the ridge. More of the same and to ridge at 11.00. No sign of path, but pleasant going, after all the rough stuff, amid sandstone boulders and to top at 11.25. Magnificent view.arranc04/06/2009
