Parked at the Inverbroom bus stop and followed the Coffin Road path until reached a gate NE of Carn Dearg. Followed the fence from here to near the summit. After Carn Dearg it was heather tramping and pool hopping to Meall Glac Tigh-fail, Carn Mhic Ruairidh, Carn Breac Mor, Carn Breac Meadhonach and finally Carn Breac Beag, only the great view to An Teallach and the England v Pakistan World Cup commentary distracting me from the relative tedium of this terrain. We returned to the start via the old stalkers path that starts/ends ENE of Carn Breac Mor. Not much of a path until you reach the Altan Odhar gorge down to Auchlunachan. 5 hours.summitter11/11/2023
Parked at the A835 layby just south of the Letters turn. Could easily have parked by the bus stop at the crossroads 181840. Followed the Coffin Path signposts round the back of Croftown. Good going up to the gate at 150m asl, after that narrow, stony, sometimes overgrown with bracken. Followed the path until due east of the summit, then straight up over the fore summit to the true summit. Retraced steps.Owen B26/08/2023
Parked at Fainmore ruin. ATV track to Loch an t-Sidhein. Bagged An Sidhein, Carn Breac Mor & Carn Mhic Ruairidh on the way. With Jill.Dangerous Dave30/04/2023
Parked at Cuileig Power Stn entrance (NH 1903 7823). Track to pwr stn then old, dilapidated FB over R. Broom (take life in own hands!). Carn Breac Beag, Carn Breac Meadhonach, Carn Breac Mor and Carn Mhic Ruairidh first then across to here. On to Carn Dearg.jonglew02/12/2022

Roadside parking near Inverbroom bus shelter, followed Coffin Road to around 380m then struck off to Carn Dearg tump on fairly easy ground. Then southwards to marilyn Meall Glac Tigh-fail. Thereafter headed NE towards Coffin Road and then back to car. Unfortunately cloud level at around 800m limited views of higher hills around.willyross17/12/2021
Route as Gill, great views.iangalbraith01/08/2021
From Fain over HF and Tump to this top with great views once the mist had cleared. An ATV track gives good walking in dry conditions from Loch nan Eun. Just over 6.5 miles, solo.bolton20/07/2021

Up from Croftown w Jenx. A dismal dreech day, had noted previous logs by Gill and Martin R hiwever shows how much difference the weather makes. Squelched up the coffin road and ATV track to first top. Battled up steep slopes to the summit and paused no more than to acknowledge hill climbed and take a compass bearing for the gill to the SE top and return track. Not even a photo was it so grim! A tick nonethelessnordicstar30/07/2016
A nice circular route. The way back especially nice with waterfalls all cascading and raspberries and black currants to eat.jenx30/07/2016

A lazy day in crunchy snow and glorious sunshine. Having been up almost all of the main hills in this area, this little Marilyn must get the prize for the best views - it is absolutely 360 degrees all round, with Coigach, the Beinn Dearg hills, Fannaichs, Fisherfield and An Teallach. Stunning. Parked near a bus stop at Croftown on the Letters road. There's a good path signposted Coffin Road, which can be followed up to a gate, and then an atv track branches off it, and leads up the side of Meall Dubh to a lochan. Then it's an easy matter to scamper across the moor and up the hill, which is surprisingly pointy. I walked back across Carn Dearg and other bumplets to pick up the Coffin road back. This is a really beautiful walk, and highly recommended for maximum reward with minimum effort.Gill15/02/2016

Solo. Parked car at road junction at NH182840 as I couldn't find anything suitable nearer Auchlunachan where I used the path (as marked on map), track (as on ground) on S side of burn. Shortly after track crosses burn left track and went NW to summit. Took more direct line back by going initially NE. Tried to find path marked on OS 1:50,000 map but not much sign of it.pwbellarby21/06/2012
From just S of Achlunachan, with daughter Sue. Steep track to L of burn to flatter and boggier area. Rocky summit, perched boulder visible from afar, and nice cairn. Fine views to An Teallach, Fisherfield, Fannichs. Continued to two other hills.Aye Jimmy26/10/2011
Park on A835 near Inverbroom Lodge. Stile into sheep field and a gate in deer fence onto rough land. Faint path above a small wood, clambering over collapsed wire fences back onto moor to a new gate in a sheep fence. 6' high bracken and long slog uphill to tussock above around to right to dome and top at 10.40.arranc19/06/2007
