Blue skies & light winds. Did the circuit as described in the SMC Hillwalking Gide to the North-West Highlands. Splendid route and easy walking conditions on both ridges.garbo110305/11/2023

Solo in drizzly weather. Cycled in and out from Black Bridge. Meall a' Chaorainn followed by Beinn Tharsuinn and finally Beinn a' Chaisteil.alexmaclennan22/09/2023
Parking area at the end of the public road to Glencalvie and Alladale. Excellent track south, then footbridge and grassy path to Diebidale. Good ATV track and generally easy terrain made for good progress along the ridge to Leaba Bhruic. From there pathless and the col is full of peat hags, although a slightly more northerly line bypasses many of them. Then grassy, heathery, stony to the almost flat summit. A gentle northerly breeze gave very clear air with excellent views to Strathfarrar, Ullapool hills, Ben More Assynt, Ben Hope, Ben Klibreck, Morven. Retraced steps. A very good outing.Owen B27/08/2023

From Black bridge to the small dams. Up the north side of the river to the loch (good fishermans track), round the shore of the loch (intermittent path) and straight up from there.iangalbraith30/07/2023
Cycled in from Black Bridge up Strath Vaich to small Hydro scheme. Across the dam up grassy slopes to pick up an atv track coming up from Deanich Lodge. Climbed the 3 Tumps on north side of Crom Loch before heading on to Beinn Tharsuinn. Walked back round north side of Crom Loch which was rather tedious with no path and terrain was poor, eventually picked up track at west end of the Loch which continued for the most part on the North side of the Allt Loch Nam Breac Buidhe back to the small Dam and track back to Black Water Bridge.Jossker23/09/2022

A great circuit from Glencalvie. Bumped into Anne Butler and Ralph just before Diebidale, so we joined forces for the walk. Up Diebidale ridge using the obvious track, over Leaba Bhruic, down easy enough hags (with Bambi) and pleasant, steep climb to Beinn Tharsuinn. Wonderful easy going on tundra over Dunan Liath and Dunach Liath, just a few hags before the descent to the glen, finding a path of sorts further down but not the mapped path. Handy gap in deer fence around plantation, W of rickety stile, finding a good track down to the river after a short distance and nice riverside walk back to the main track.Gill04/06/2022

after Meall a' Chaorainn, rode to end of branch track, then walked via Crom Loch, where peat haggs are plentiful. A long hard day - should have done it years ago! Rode back to Black Bridge.IanHHill06/06/2021

Parked at road end near Glencalvie Lodge, cycled up Glen Calvie to footbridge NE of Diebidale property, then followed minor ATV track with easy walking all way along Diebidale ridge (this track helpfully shows on Full Screen View on hill-bagging, but not on standard 1/50000 OS map). then on in SW direction to Beinn Tharsuinn. Returned essentially the same way. This seems a much better way to reach the graham compared to SMC book routes.willyross21/04/2021

From car park at Glencalvie, along track to bridge then broadly on line of stalkers path on to Dunach Liath and along this ridge to summit. Return same way visiting all the various tops. A pleasant stroll in unusually warm, humid conditions.MichaelF25/07/2019
Ban and Tharsuinn after cycling up from NE. From above Deanich Lodge via Loch Crom. Very rough and uncomfortable ground, not a pleasure to walk on.Topographer5723/07/2019
From Glencalvie Lodge big car park past “private road Glencalvie Lodge only” sign. There are footpath signs on lodge track & no one said anything. Up to Dùnach Liath & along ridge mostly good going with a bit of tussock grass. 7hour30.rogreeves04/07/2019
Long route from Black Bridge. Along Strath Vaich. Very steep climb to flat summit of Meall a' Chuaille, traverse to Meall a' Chaorainn, then very steep descent back to track. Continued over Carn Lochain Sgeireich, Carn Feur-lochain, Dunan Liath then Beinn Tharsuinn and camped by Crom Loch. In the morning on to Carn Crom-loch and return. Rain for most of first day with low cloud, but cleared later.RobertP31/05/2019

Long cycle ride from Black Bridge alongsiide Loch Vaich. Very hard going from end of track up to loch on south side due to burns in spate. 4 hours from end of track to summit and back. Middle of wilderness.Campbell Singer03/05/2016

W Jenx, backpacking in from Calvie Lodge. Pack near Deanich Lodge, then climbed Beinn a'Chaisteil direct, circled around tops to Graham Beinn Tharsuinn, and top back to packs. Camped by bridge at NH354840 (idyllic) before Carn Ban next day.nordicstar07/06/2013

from Chaorainn. Gingerly down to track and to end of a spur track to pumping station. Long drag uphill over rough heather runs going due east. As gradient eased stream got broader. Wrote Patricia in sand of a very small loch. Left pack. Up over hags, swamp grass and over a large stony area of Cairngorm like tundra to top at 14.30. Mist covered all views. Drizzle came on then steady shower and to car at 18.00. 9 1/2 hr day. Excellent meal in Inchbae Lodge.arranc02/07/2006
