With Jane, good track whilst there was fog, which cleared when climbing this hill first.tallblond17/03/2024
Before Meall an Fheur Loch, from road to N up stalker's path with Greg during Shills meet. Windy but it improved, clag most of the time but a glimpse from the top, quite heavy rain some of the time. Very wet at end. Rounsfell08/10/2023
Solo. Route for Meallan a Chuail and Beinn Leoid as per Walk Highland. A hot and windy day.DampandDusty08/07/2023
From small parking area on A838, followed SMC/Walkhighlands route. Think I tore a calf muscle on Meallan a Chuaill, which made the rest of the walk to Beinn Leoid and back a bit of a hobble. Lovely views though. 16.4km, 5hRockdoctor25/05/2023
From Meall an Fheur Loch. Skirting across southern end of Loch Cul a Mhill and up eastern slope onto main ridge heading south up to main top. Hung around for a while in hope the mist would clear as I could see blue sky overhead but no joy. Making my way back down and now heading for Meall na Leatrich all the hills had cleared of mist except the ones I had been on and not long after they were also clear. Typical!!Jossker06/05/2023

Easy walk up from Drochaid Beinn Leoid after the Corbett. Beautiful summit. Descended north ridge and went on to Meall an Fheur Loch. With Phil & Chris.Dangerous Dave30/03/2023
Beinn Leonid and Meallan a' Chuail with John from the A838. Parked in a small area behind a passing place, and ascended the stalkers path up to Lochan a' Chuail. Cross the boggy terrain to ascend Meallan a' Chuail first, then down to the bealach and up to the corbett summit. Returned down to the bealach, then descended a path down to Loch Dubh and then left the path up to 500m to retraces our route in. Conditions were wet after a recent thaw, with freezing wind on the tops. Total time 5h 12min.mproudfoot05/02/2023

After B. Leoid, over this summit, quickest, or at least, easiest way back to the stalkers pathiangalbraith23/05/2021
A day of cloud and drizzle. A good stalkers path to start then rough cross country most of way col the straightforward to Beinn Leoid and on to Meall an Chuill, took a poor line from there but ascent of Meall an Fheur Loch straightforward back to stalkers path and start.dickscroop22/08/2020

Parked on grass/gravel area adjacent to passing place 100m or so east of stalklers track to north of hill room for 3 cars. As SMC book but went up NNE ridge of Meallan a' Chuail which looked the abvious route 5hours38rogreeves19/05/2019
From Meall an Fheur Loch. Was concerned about the strong easterly so kept to the NW side of the stony ridge, but the top was almost windless as the wind was racing up the east side of the ridge and lifting high over the summit.Owen B24/04/2019

Kinloch Brae- Beinn Leoid- Meallan a' Chuil- Kinloch Brae walk. Wonderful view, the world of rock, water and bog below holding the view, leading out to Loch Shin. The NNE ridge, stepped at first, was gentle on good terrain at the end- keeping to the little knolls meant a good view of the cairn at the end of the excellent stalkers by Alltnan Doire Dhubh for the walk out to Kinloch Brae.pwheeler23/05/2018
After Meall an Fheur Loch. Continued to Beinn Leoid and on return from there, I left the path at 34111/30482 to head across towards Lochan a' Chuail.duchally19/05/2018

Rd of MFL, Chuail and Leoid from A838. Several steep boulder sections required care after overnight rain.Topographer5728/09/2017

Ascended Meall an Fheur Loch first with Martin66, J, JC, Otis & the Harts using the stalkers path from the road for a cracking view from the summit. Then leaving the others headed down SW for the col. Otis galloped after me trying to herd me up with the others! Up to Meallan a'Chuail where the mist had drifted in. Dropped W to the col & then followed the path N for about 1km before following a fainter path across the moor to rejoin the earlier stalkers path. The others were already well settled in the pub!NotReallyABagger02/09/2012

Parked on A 838 beyond Loch Merkland in a 2 car passing place. Very pleasant stalkers' path zig sagging up to the plateau for 1,000'. On top peaty lochans were almost dry and stepping stones across the bog almost redundant. To cairn at end of the path. An easy walk over hard short grass to the foot of the ridge at 1,900'. A more severe angle with 2 or 3 rocky scrambles up on narrowing ridge to top at 11.45. sheer drop of 1,000' to 2 corrie lochans below. Nice hill. To Fheur Loch.arranc24/07/2008

Dropped, with Allan, from pleasure boat at Glencoul to climb Beinn Leoid and Meallan a'Chuail. Pickup arranged on A838.lordtonult01/07/1998
I drove to Lairg and on A838 to 357733. Solo walk. I ascended a good stalkers’ path going south and then SW to col between Meall na Leitreach and Meallan a’ Chuaill. I left the car at 11:15. At the end of the path there is a stone man. I ascended to the summit of Meallan a’ Chuaill (750m), arriving at 15:50. I then went to the summit of Beinn Leoid (792m) passing another stone man on the way up. I reached the summit at 16:40. At the summit I met Father and son from Cambridge, who were following the British watershed. They planned to do it over 2 weeks a year for 15 years! I left the summit at 16:40, down to col with Meallan a’ Chuaill. I then followed the stalkers’ path N, leaving it to climb up to join the one used for the outward route. I followed the path back to the car, reached at 18:55. Fine weather. I drove to Stonehaven.pwbellarby31/05/1997
