Parked at the phone box, along the road and up through the forestry. Nice path (ATV) from the wee ruin with great views of Ben Stack, Arkle and Quinag in the early light. Went on to Meallan Liath Beag S Top and Meallan Liath Beag.StueyB05/11/2023
Parked opposite the estate office. Along road to 296391 and then up track to join main track going west. About 3 and a quarter hours return. An interesting top and the isolated rock appears to be the highest point. With CM and D.Dave trying to beat the forecast of rain.bolton28/03/2023
Simple walk on forest roads and good moorland path from Achfary. Back same way. With CJM & bolton.Dangerous Dave28/03/2023
4 km up track from the east then up. Geologically interesting as summit is a slab of conglomerate rock full of small round peebles and summit diverted in these round pebblesvegibagger24/09/2022
With HF, Bill Chase leading. Spectacular views on the traverse from Lochmore Lodge to Kylesku, but summit in mist.GWR Chris22/06/2022

From Achfary parking (NC296402), walked along road to forest track at NC294391, up that to the Glendhu path continuing up to shieling, then NW on good ATV track to summit of Ben Dreavie, returning same way. With JAS.kdbennett30/08/2021
Parked by the defribillator box at Achfary (no parking signs at the end of the hydro track. As others started at the hydro track at about 296392 and followed track all the way to the summit. Returned via same route. 7 miles - 3hrs 9 mins moving time at a fairly gentle pace.JulieB19/08/2021
Steep ascent on logging track then super old track from shieling which meanders through the lochans to the summit.Crumblie211/08/2021
On CWT - on the leg from Glendhu bothy to wild camp near Loch a Cham Alltain. Good views across to Ben Stack. With Gillianrichard6910/08/2021
Via hydro-cable/forestry track that starts from NC294392 (parked on verge near Achfary). Up to ruined sheiling then beautiful track in NW direction to summit with extensive views. Great walk.willyross26/07/2021
Up the new road for 500m then turn L up a minor trackjimbloomer17/06/2021
As Hils, although the new track is being upgraded again, and the workmen stopped digging for us as we passed. Lots of smiles, not much English! Glorious but windy day, fabulous old track between the lochans.iangalbraith17/07/2020
With my wife using the newish track described by hils. Good views across to Ben Stack from the top.NormanW06/07/2020
With K. Route as Hils below, new track from near Achfary. First isolation walk of Coronavirus times. Edited: at the time of this walk, there was no advice not to go hillwalking.Ashley21/03/2020
From Ben Stack. SE to point 538, then an easier than expected descent initially south, then west along the stream. Then pathless and quite steep SW and then flatter and easier south to the summit. Excellent views despite the flat topped summit. Then SE along the delightful track between lochans to the track down to Lochmore Lodge. Then back along the road to Achfary.Owen B26/04/2019
Ditto hils. A fine viewpoint especially for the higher hills on the other side of the A838.Topographer5727/07/2018
used a newish hydro cable track that starts from 294392 rises to a beallach at 409m, cairn marks the start of a delighful old hill track to summit.hils21/05/2018
A road crosses from Loch Glendhu to Loch More, then a very good path leads almost to the very top. A dreary day when I was there but I still met three people by the top.Alan Moore15/05/2018
forest track just south of Achfary which joins old stalkers' path right to summit.davidsbatty09/05/2018
1 of 4: from timber track gate south of Achfary.ChrisR19/04/2018
A lovely walk in good snow all the way. The bulldozed forest road is not so bad when snow covered, and the hill track to the summit makes for easy going. Superb views of favourite mountains throughout, and interesting twists and turns of the hill track reveal lovely icy lochans.Gill29/12/2017
Took the bulldozed track up from just south of Achfary as far as the ruin then joined the footpath to the summit. Incredible views all over particularly Ben Stack and Arkle. As you top out the sea comes into view too, a terrific hill.Peterb09/08/2017
Using the new directbtrack past the lodge. The old stalkers path gone dug up and roaded with electricity service cabling. Old path from the col a delight still and a fine summit area with views.nordicstar21/07/2016
Nice high level path once off the bulldozed track.jenx21/07/2016
Took forest track to bypass Lochmore Lodge - no locked gates - reached old path at top of forest to find it had been improved. The path from bealach to summit was a delight - wonderful views.Chris Peart18/06/2016
From Achfary with Ben Stack and Ben ScreavieJim.Fothergill20/05/2016
Parked at 295392 and followed new bulldozed track through felled plantation to meet old path from Lochmore Lodge at a locked gate (high deer fence to climb) Bulldozed track continued to beyond shieling, from which a lovely path led easily to the top. Good views all round. Returned via old track to Lochmore lodge - much nicer with some old pines and a few rhodedendrons.Clive G15/05/2015
Though houses 200m south east of Lochmore Lodge, and up path to new path following underground cable to (and beyond) Bealach nam Fiann. Then delightful old hill path to the topPeteN05/04/2015
Bulldozed track/path from Lochmore LodgeAndrewFinnimore27/08/2014
Up Strath Stack from Achfary, and at the end of the woodland straight up to the top. Returned SE along the stalkers path to the shieling, and back down a muddy track being constructed for the new hydro scheme - follows the line of the stalkers path before veering downhill off to the left to join the road between Lochmore Lodge and Achfary.martin_hall18/10/2012
Parked beyond Lochmore Lodge. On road through yards and on bridal track on gentle gradient for 2 miles in a forest to a wide open area with stones scattered all over the ground. Cloud at 1,800'. A narrower superb path led from junction over lochan studied rugged landscape for 1 1/2 miles to its end on the summit plateau. 2 great northern divers. To top at 11.35. No view - mist. Anywhere within the 510m contour could be the highest point - like a car park with gravel and odd rocks scattered around. GPS indicated a loose pile of large stones as the cairn.arranc03/08/2008
From Glendhu bothy by good paths, even in snow.Eddie25/01/2007
