As others from Ardlussa, following track to dam then ATV track off left. When ATV track looked like it largely ran out went left on another ATV track that led up around the ridge and onto the TuMP of Cnoc Tigh-sealge. Then down and up grassy rake to summit of Beinn Breac. From summit headed down grassy rake to valley between Loch Aird a Chruaidh-Ghinn and the smaller loch SW of it. Then up various grassy rakes to Dubh Bheinn via its 477m TuMP. Headed down from here down SE grassy rake, then South to meet track at about 581881. Followed track all the way down to forest and to end car at 613849. Lats mile of track pretty good due to tree plantations around the valleys. Good parking spot also. 11.55 miles out about 6 hrs Strava says 5hrs 9 walking time. Ground very dry, think it would be harder work when wet. With KeithByTheC and Carol. | JulieB | 29/04/2022 |
From Cnoc Tigh-Sealga. Grassy ramps take you left to right down to col. Then up grassy ramp to a little right of summit. | KeithByTheC | 29/04/2022 |
#6 of 7 from Lussa bridge car park. Wet and windy. Also visited the W top, SubTump | RHW | 06/04/2022 |
From Ardlussa. Track to fishing Loch, over the Dan then picked the ATV track going up Garbh Leathad over Hump Cruach an Uillt Fherana. Mist cleared on summit approach. | N.Morters | 01/04/2022 |
Clockwise round, starting from Ardlussa, good parking. To the dam, bridge has gone, could be tricky in wet weather. Left fork of ATV track leads to bridge over Allt Grundale, then up past lochans at 300m and over pt 310. Shortly after, a clear deer track contours S of Cnoc Tigh Sealga well below an obvious cairn, brings you to Loch Tigh-sealga, then deer tracks easily to Dubh Bheinn via various lochans. Back, then deer tracks and ATV track to Bealach a' Chruaidh-ghlinn, deer tracks to Beinn Bhreac and nearby trig. Down the ATV track starting near the lochan below the trig, joining the outward route. | Gill | 28/03/2022 |
Beinn Bhreac then Dubh Beinn, from Ardlussa. When outward path fizzled out, turned L & went high. Great day out - excellent weather. With Bolton & CJM. | ger | 28/03/2022 |
With CM and Ger from Ardlussa. Good ATV tracks lead most of the way. Glorious day! Headed to Dubh Bheinn. | bolton | 28/03/2022 |
Round of Bhreac and Dubh from Ardlussa, route and time agreed with local stalkers. Track from Ardlussa goes all the way up above 400m but warning it was too wet and soft for any vehicles less than 8WD. | Topographer57 | 17/09/2019 |
From Ardlussa. Good visibility and dry underfoot made the ascent fairly easy. Carried on to Dubh Bheinn from where it seemed a very long way back to the car. | NormanW | 24/04/2019 |
Bhreac and Dubh Bheinn from Ardlussa. A tricky couple of Marilyns with some complicated terrain in thick mist above 400ms so well-chuffed to locate both summits using my good old map + compass! NB The track marked on the OS map is nothing more than a boggy ATV track which goes all the way to just below the summit of Bhreac. | AndrewFinnimore | 26/03/2019 |
Ardlussa to Cruach-an Uillt Fhearna, Beinn Bhreac and Dubh Bheinn. | PGCE | 23/04/2018 |
6th hill of 13 today on a circuit from Ardlussa climbing Maol nan Damh Se top, Maol nan Damh, Dubh Bheinn SE top, Dubh Bheinn, Cnoc tigh Sealga and then over to this summit in still very windy westher making climbing the various rocks potentially hazardous. Checked heights several times before moving off towards Ben Garrisdale Nw top. | Dazingdale | 06/06/2017 |
With Jenx. Round of Beinn Breac and Dubh Bheinn from Ardlussa. ATV tracks and staying high the secret. | nordicstar | 31/05/2016 |
A good walk round. Nice and craggy once on the higher ground, and easy lines to follow. | jenx | 31/05/2016 |
ACW round of beinn bhreac and dudh bheinn from bridge over river lussa mostly on good atv tracks. | robertphillips | 20/09/2015 |
With Mora, from Ardlussa. | BLACKHILL | 07/04/2014 |
after c na ullt fearna, superb hill, visited both summits | Thearlaichdubh | 26/05/2013 |
Fascinating series of ribs all along the ridge. Gained by direct assault from Dubh Bheinn. | Martin R | 11/06/2012 |
As Martin states plus Vanessa Trig is further north than the true high rocky point marked by a suitable cairn. Lovely view point with Jim Bloomer & Martin Richardson. | Dugswell2 | 11/06/2012 |
From A846 south of Loch Shiffin. Tracks marked on the 1:25,000 are pretty rubbish and difficult to follow. Hard work through lumpy long grass until above 200m asl. I'm guessing Ardlussa might have been a better starting point. | Owen B | 23/08/2008 |
Parked at Ardlussa. On track for 1/2 m over dam and swampy ground to move left over even worse stuff than normal to track marked on map. One or two footprints gave assurance but most tracks were made by deer. 3/4m flat section over more spongy stuff onto steeper slopes of RP. Rain. To visible horizon of rocky ridges sloping across. To top at 13.20. No view - mist. 5 hrs to car. | arranc | 07/05/2007 |
Revisit. Fine rocky summit, great view. Combined with Garrisdale - great route. | RHW | 27/04/2007 |
Date is first visit. Notes from later...fine complex remote hill, fine view, tough tussocky until > 300m. 2M + 1Y anticlock from 616853; deer tks are lifesavers in deep boggy Jura tussock | RHW | 27/03/2002 |
