Straight up the excellent path from the north.ARM16/02/2024
With J during a hot & sunny week based in Tomintoul. Followed the yellow trail from the car park at Clash Woods above Tomnavulin. Took a diversion to avoid 2 cattle infested fields. Had the route to ourselves until the summit where mountain bikers galore came & went from the other side and used the picnic bench(!) just over the top. Great view from the summit. Short detours for the minor tops.NotReallyABagger08/09/2023

Keep an eye out for Reindeer. Ballenlish farm is where the Cairngorm herd spend the winter. They also have wild boar that are easily spooked.rogreeves23/04/2019
With Pete, from Tomnavoulin, following the marked route (but anticlockwise) and deviating to visit Carn Liath(qv) and Cairn Ellick(qqv). A really nice walk, still snowy on the summit, with excellent views, easily exceeding 60 miles as Morven in Caithness was in view. Between the 3 summits there is some open ridge walking but also some fence and plantation edge walkingpwheeler19/03/2019
Cairn Ellick, Carn Daimh & Carn Liath from Tomnavoulin - all of which are pretty much on the Carn Daimh Circuit (which is well signposted). A really pleasant three hour or so stroll around the Allt a Choire watershed, taking in sheep, sheep dogs, cows, mud, forestry, and mist interspersed with fine views.summitter06/01/2019
Delightful linear walk with easy going and great views from Glenlivet to Tomintoul.Alex C05/10/2018

A great walk from Blairfindy car park (just go up the hill from the Glenlivet distillery, it's at the road summit at the start of the Speyside way path). Way marked path all the way, nicely rough, a nice change from the land rover tracks that seem to be standard fare in this area. Superb views all the way, and the summit views are even better.Gill08/09/2018

A lovely view point. Ground frozen solid which was liucky because the cattle have really churned up the smugglers path.jenx18/01/2016
From CP In Clash Woods, good access point from East in theory. Could park a car off track at 204261. HOWEVER the wet autumn has allowed cattle on the hill above Westertown all the way up the line of the Smugglers Path - you'd want to use - to churn the lower and much of the upper path into an unpleasant morass. For us it was all frozen solid and whilst still a challenge if wet mud this would be no lark. Consider another line.nordicstar18/01/2016
