From the waterworks - one of the best wee hills. | Chris Peart | 31/05/2023 |
Drove to the New Shawbost road end where an ATV was coming through the gate. Asked the driver where was the best place to park and explained that I wanted to climb the hill. He told me I could drive all the way up the track, it's all tarmac, just make sure I close the gates behind me. So I did, and parked outside the compound below the steep north west side of the hill. There is an obvious way steeply up between the outcrops at the bottom of the hill which proved to be simple, then less steep from there and found a way without any scrambling. | Owen B | 27/05/2023 |

Beinn Rathacleit, Beinn Bhragair and then Beinn Choinnich using the asphalt track from New Shawbost for swift and easy access to the western side of the range. The return route was not quite so straightforward, but the dry conditions meant it that the heather & peat was not too bad to traverse and the tracks NNW of Gleann an t-Srath relatively quickly attained. | summitter | 09/09/2022 |
Parked at turning area at the end of the road, New Sharbost. Walked to the cold waterworks building then up a gully onto hillside. High point behind trig no-longer has a cairn. Back same way on a wet Sunday morning. Solo. | Dangerous Dave | 04/09/2022 |
Visited the trig/summit with Alma Aurea. Parked at the waterworks, gates were all open today. Great views and weather. | meltdiceburg | 28/07/2022 |
With trimarc2. The very nice man at the end of the road let us park in his front yard. Past the water work extremely wet under foot and we opted for quite a scramble of a route up. Misty on the summit but mild so enjoyed a coffee on the trig. On to Beinn Rathacleit. | Fionalevey | 24/01/2022 |
As described by Fiona. Very enjoyable chat with man in last bungalow on right before the hill track | trimarc2 | 24/01/2022 |
Fine hill - approach from near water works. | ger | 15/09/2021 |

A morning walk with my better half who wanted to 'relive' a school walk. Parked at the first gate on the road and walked to the water works. Picked a path up through the grass gully - quite boggy. Lovely views from the top before heading down for brunch and the flight south. | Buck | 30/08/2021 |
Solo. Parked a mile from the water board compound due to water on road and went across moor. Ascended towards the central gully but headed up slopes to its left. Nice views of Lewis and our to Flannans. | assynt_bob | 24/09/2020 |

Morning walk from end of the public road to Shawbost. Up the track (could easily be driven) to the old water works. Short zigzag through the crags. | N.Morters | 29/05/2019 |

Beinn Bhragair and Beinn Rathacleit from end of public road to N. Warm bright morning, before ferry to Ullapool. | RobertP | 24/05/2018 |
Drove down to water treatment plant (NB 2613 4368) on reasonably good vehicle access track. 1st of a round of 5 hills, with nephew Andrew Purkiss. | jonglew | 23/09/2017 |
A very good hill considering its modest altitude. Walked to the waterworks, then got up close to the crags on grassy trods. Found a howff below one of the bigger crags, marking the start of excellent grassy sheep trods through the crags. Over a flat bit, then a wide heathery gully to the top. Easy going, fairly dry, and superb views. Especially smug to be dry and looking south to see Harris and Uig being drowned. | Gill | 22/09/2017 |

From the waterworks at 261437. There are 2 gates from Siabost down the metalled road. Took one hour return with CM. | bolton | 22/07/2017 |
From water treatment plant. 1/8 sun, good vis, slight haze, nice cooling breeze. With PM. | CJM | 22/07/2017 |
Along tarmacked access road & parked by old waterworks at 261436. Apart from a short stretch before the road gate, tarmac is still in good condition - SSE to top of wide grass gully & then a short walk to summit cairn. (S) | gerrybowes | 21/06/2017 |
Walked from Shawbost. Easy approach along tarmac road to water works then steeply up a boggy gully to the summit plateau and trig point. Weather fine - extensive views. | ajd58 | 07/06/2017 |
Farmer said I could drive to water works so I did! A nice easy Marilyn for a change. | AndrewFinnimore | 03/05/2017 |
