Very dry conditions, easy with vehicle track to left of wood and some other tracks to reach summit. Warm but cloudy and a bit hazy. | RobertP | 17/06/2023 |
From tarmac'd parking area just S of high point on the road (NF 7918 7046). Very boggy start, then very rough and heathery. On to Marrogh. | jonglew | 09/03/2023 |
CP near summit of Committee Rd. Up track all the way to forest top then across moor and picked up ATV track all the way to summit. View of St Kilda best aspect of this hill. 60 mins | Coinneach | 07/09/2022 |
From the small car park on the Committee Road. Difficult terrain at first with bog, tussocks and large heather clumps. Easier higher up. Solo. | Dangerous Dave | 09/06/2022 |
On the way back from Marrogh. Saw a Walker going up from the car park | Adrian2 | 01/04/2022 |
Parked at the car park on the Committee Road, headed up ATV track to forest, saw a stag, and then headed up into the flag/cloud/rain to the summit. No views. Solo. | assynt_bob | 18/10/2021 |
From the high point of the Committee road. A track takes you on the north side of the plantation and then disappears but easy then to the summit from there. With CM. | bolton | 05/09/2021 |
A rehab walk for a gammy knee, perfectly adequate given the good path from the car park up to and past the plantation and easy dry going thereafter. A rising traverse avoids all the hags on smooth ground. Not the most lovely hill but perfectly fine. Spotted a goldie flying around. | Gill | 04/09/2021 |
Morning walk before ferry, last Marilyn on the chain, N.Uist, S.Uist/ Eriskay. From car park on road to west. Up via ATV track past woodland then easy going to broad summit. Great views and sun. | N.Morters | 07/05/2021 |
From small car park at Striachclete on the Committee Road. | Winterfloodian | 18/10/2020 |
With David S. Started from parking area to WNW. Initially very boggy rough going (avoided on descent by going further N). | ger | 06/10/2019 |
A walk with ger to the summit and back to off road side parking at NF 79125 70371. | DRS | 06/10/2019 |
From car park at summit of Committee Rd. Watched Hen Harrier displaying and took advice from birdwatcher to use the ATV track to the top of the plantation, then I went directly up the hill heading to trig through drying out bogs. Descent, via Beinn Amhlasaraigh, seemed easier going, the hagged section being very straightforward. Not a great hill but ok as so dry underfoot. Very good views with St Kilda on horizon. | pwheeler | 20/05/2019 |
From the top of the Committee Road. | Chris Peart | 26/04/2019 |
Short walk up from the road walking East from West. Park at the spot that says good for seeing birds of prey. Nice short walk. | nickywood1 | 15/06/2018 |
From Committee Road. With TB and MN | trimarc2 | 06/10/2017 |
Trig visit. | chalky1953 | 25/08/2017 |
A pleasant walk from the Committee Road over Beinn Amhlasaraigh to the summit. The bible is still there, though very waterlogged, and with its iron casing adrift from its covers. Superb views as streamers of cloud drifted over Eaval and the Lees. | Nick Down1 | 16/07/2017 |
Easy walk in dry conditions. Good Hen Harrier sighting. | SteveG | 18/05/2017 |
30 mins from the Committee Road. Made easy by the dry conditions. | Play2End | 05/04/2017 |
From car park on minor road to east, nf 792 705. | BLACKHILL | 13/09/2016 |
Good parking at high point on minor road to the west and easily gained summit using ATV track. | AndrewFinnimore | 21/05/2016 |
With: hb; Walked up from top of pass watched by twitchers with binoculars. We were the only thing to watch as there were no birds. Very old large leather bible by Trig - in poor state of repair - very scary! | Ian Baines | 16/05/2016 |

A nicer walk than expected because Dry under foot. Follow the quad tracks from high point. A lovely viewpoint. | jenx | 29/04/2016 |
Much better than on map. Good parking at road highpoint. Track to woods, then ATV line above that intermittently to summit. Good underfoot, when wet wellies would be in order. | nordicstar | 29/04/2016 |
Excellent parking on the B. Road to the west of Maireabhal. Used for the peat digging. Follow rough quad track to bottom of small plantation and then continue on track on north of plantation and rise steadily to south side of Beinn Aulasaraigh avoiding most of the peat hacks. | Campbell Singer | 03/04/2016 |
Most direct route from road. Hot sunny day. Saw St Kilda. Found large Victorian bible at summit. | Rounsfell | 30/05/2015 |
A warm but close and midgy evening. From the peat workings at the top of the minor road pass, tyre marks led to the left of a small plantation. Continued towards the main summit, staying below the worst of the peat hags. Beneath the trigpoint were the remains of a Bible. I read two verses at random, I will not reproduce or comment on them here but they can be found in Judges Ch 1 vv 24-25 (King James Version). | Topographer57 | 20/09/2014 |
From car park on middle road of North Uist, went up the just legible track to the small clumb of trees, then when directly up the hill until I could see the trig and then went in the best straight line I could make. BOG EVERYWHERE. worth doing once because of views, but never again. | robbosem | 24/05/2012 |
With Kate. Left car at top of pass (14:30) and climbed through trackless scrub direct to first top and then across moorland with some groughs to summit. Saw short-eared owl on return to car (16:05). NB possible path up to L of wood. | dbb | 27/06/2011 |

From the committee road with eldest son Matthew. Did a second time with youngest son James several years later. | pdantic | 02/08/2004 |
Up from the road and over the peat haggs. | Eddie | 15/04/2003 |
Parked at the highest point of the minor road that bisects North Uist from north to south. This was a drudge of a hill walking up and over Beinn Aulasaraigh before bog hopping to the trig. | garyhoney | 03/08/2001 |
Parked at high point of minor road. Steady walk up on wet long grass and heather moor. Minor hags on flattening summit made for heavier going. Top at 11.15. Cloud at 1500' | arranc | 02/08/2001 |
