Parked 150 metres south east of the track entrance. Straightforward walk up the track to the mast and then grassy to the trig. Lovely early evening light up and down the coastline and across to Arran.Owen B29/03/2024
From road summit, marked 207m, to the E, past the masts and on to the Trig pt, kept ca. 10m below masts on S side on the way back. Windy and grey but the rain kept off; I thought it woud be a wash out today so glad to get out... and another Ma!pwheeler21/03/2024
From the viewpoint to the East, past the 'mobile' masts? Thanks to the lovely people who built the styles with the blue pipes over the barbed wire which I noticed on the way back, nearly did myself a mischief on the way to the trig.DavieRuts19/03/2024
Parked at the view point and ran up to the top with Hilary returning the same way.Fellhugger01/09/2023
From the viewpoint, mainly over easy grass. A circuit of the tops and summit, with Ailsa Craig and Arran playing peek-a-boo across the dips and rises.Nick Down115/05/2023

On a day when high winds and rain were forecast. Easy walk on tarmac access road to transmitters….ignored the signs and the workies in vans. Nice person has placed blue pipe across the barbed wire fencing, to make crossing easier. V v windyVerySlowPlodder09/05/2022

1 of 3: Parked at the bottom of the masts road on the minor road to the east. With Karen.ChrisR24/07/2021
Parked near the viewpoint on the minor road to the east. Walked directly up to the masts. Easy to climb fence on south side of masts. Through a gate that opens in the next fence and over a stile at the final fence to reach the trig point (summit). A beautiful sunny day with excellent views of Ailsa Craig, Arran and much else. Bogs dried up and not a cow to be seen. Back same way.pwbellarby21/04/2021
Georgeous day for a walk from the view point up the road to the masts and out to the summit. Back by a lower route to the south. Great views over to Arran today.3 kinnears24/12/2020

3rd hill of 6 today, having climbed Kirkland hill from Achensoul then after leaving car in Ayr walked along coastal path, veering off to climb Heads of Ayr, dropping down to track past attractive burn to main road then took minor road up to connect with transmitter tower access road. Climbed in and out of compound and over to trig. Rain clouds approaching and getting windier. Next hill: Drumshang hill.Dazingdale13/05/2017
From viewpoint (298164) along ridge to masts. Pass on southern side of masts and continue across 2 fences, both with stiles, to summit. Sunny, but too hazy for good views. Returned the same way.Winterfloodian01/05/2017
Whilst in the area, I realised, quite coincidentally, that I'd ascended this hill on the same day fifteen years ago. A good excuse for a second visit, by the mast access roadColin Crawford14/02/2017
