2 of 4: After Bainloch Hill we drove to Screel CP which was closed so we parked further down the lane. Back to Screel CP and then up to the gate marked Cows with Calves. This led to a forest track ending in Troudale Gill. Then a F/B led onto a path to the top. With Karen.ChrisR21/04/2023
Parked at the entrance to the Foresthill track on the Bengairn Lodge minor road. Good track to Foresthill, continued to the end of the improved pasture, then occasional hints of a path up through the tussocks. Retraced steps.Owen B10/04/2023
Car park and forestry routes from Screel Hill closed due to windthrown trees. Annoyingly there are no alternative access details given for Bengairn. Parked at NX7907552340 then followed track signed for Bengairn to Foresthill. At NX7790354231 there is a path, initially very boggy that leads to the summit.PeteF27/10/2022

Afternoon bag after Criffel. From Screel car park. Over the top of Screel. If you're decending Screel's west ridge, look out for the path to Bengairn from above. It's about 100m further and near a tree stump at approx NX 777 552. Not easy to see. This leads to a gate at approx NX 77173 54950.Jhimmy28/08/2021

Up the usual path to Screel Hill (very well built for much of its length) from the FC carpark, then over the narrow path through sedge, grass and heather to Mid Hill (nice and open now trees felled, but replacements growing quickly), then more boggy path to Bengairn. Returned eastwards down a worn route through the bracken until a footbridge over the Troudale Burn and gate onto a forest track leads back to the carpark. About 2hrs in total to walk.summitter08/09/2019

Room for a couple of cars at NX 79077 52335. Good fairly level track to egde of the field systems beyond the Foresthill ruins, then rough and steep to the top. Across to Mid Hill after. With Alec C.jonglew22/03/2018

A wonderful walk in the snow, blue skies and sunshine, and all bogs frozen. An easy route: from Bengairn house as per usual, follow the ATV track across the bogs after the last gate, then follow the track leftwards below the hill until it comes to a grinding halt at a deep stream way. Follow the edge of the stream way up on easy grass/snow, then follow the wide stream bed easily, up to a rocky outcrop on the right, where an animal track heads left and up to the top through the heather. Not very rough at all.Gill08/12/2017

Parked at NX791523 (16:45) and took signed track past Forresthill ruin to its end. Then made directly for top, finally up steep gully to summit (17:55). Deep grass but not too hard; faint path from top corner of pasture. Dry on top; good views. Finish 18:55.dbb29/09/2016
From Foresthill track junction. Couldn't see where path went after Foresthill, so headed W, fighting through bracken, deep heather, and midges. Excellent views from summit. Route and write-up at: http://gayleybird.blogspot.co.uk/2016/09/bengray-and-bengairn.htmlGayle04/09/2016

Parked by junction at NX79080 52327 – Good track to metal gate beyond Foresthill ruins – From metal gate an ATV track heads through the rough grassland to a prominent spur above a ruin at 776546 – Up spur & picked up an ATV track which headed up above the col & then up the north ridge to the summit. Parked at the 'walkers' sign at 791523. Beyond Foresthill the path generally disappears but head for the tongue between Bengairn and Screel and this brings you out above the col. Horrendously wet and hard going in places. Solo.bolton10/08/2015

From the car park at Kirkmirran we walked through forests and found the west edge - followed this up to a col and straight up boggy moorland to the top. Great day with plenty of midges. Got lost in the forest on descent - ended up on the A711ChinnockC25/05/2003
