Parked on edge of turning area at 189093 & up Pot Law, Bodesbeck Law, Nowtrig Head, Mid Rig & Bell Craig. From Bell Craig, continued following good path down to col & then a gentle climb to the summit cairn. Continued to Trowgrain Middle & Herman Law. (S)gerrybowes20/06/2018
A nice walk from Crook Cottage in the lovely Ettrick valley. Good parking just before the cottage. Through the double gate, and up to strange wooden gate contraptions (climb over) to the small area of felled forestry. SW below this, and then up alongside to reach a proper gate onto the hill. Many drainage ditches to cross below this, very easy though. Pogged up towards Mid Hill where an ATV track contours across to the final slopes. Short climb thereafter, and a fine view from the big cairn.Gill27/05/2018
From Ettrick Road End over Pot Law, Bodesbeck Law, Nowtrig Head, Mid Rig, Bell Craig, Andrewhinney Hill, Towgrain Middle and Herman Law then down over Nether Hill and back along road. An excellent circuit including the road walk.SS12/05/2018
North side of Ettrick Water, with walk back along road.Grinner08/10/2017
Parked by bridge at 192149 (13:45); straight up and back. No path and very steep at first but not too difficult in mostly short grass. Occasional rain; cloud on top, but good views of Grey Mare's Tail. Finish 15:25dbb23/07/2017
Solo. Followed fence from Herman Law over Trowgrain Middle and Mid Rig.Dangerous Dave20/07/2017
Parked at the end of the Ettrickdale road and took the forest track signed 'Ettrick Horseshoe and Bodesbeck Law' onto the ridge. Then Bodesbeck Law - Nowtgrain Head - Mid Rig (DT) - Bell Craig - Andrewhinny Hill - Mid Rig - Trowgrain Middle (sadly, the unremarkable dome west of the fence seems to be slightly higher than the splendid cairn by the fence) - Herman Law - Sandtrae Knowe - Cossars Hill and back by the single track road. A glorious day with views across both Moffatdale and Ettrickdale throughout the ridge walk.Nick Down117/06/2017
End to end walk of entire Andrewhinney Ridge with Rick & Jen. Herman Law to Capel Fell including small detour to include Pot Law. Split up after Capel Fell - Rick & Jen to finish over Broken Back while I picked off Sailfoot Law. Two vehicles start at Birkhill, parking for one without blocking farm entrance (nobody in to ask permission) to finish at Selcoth Fish Farm at foot of Sailfoot permission gained from Fish Farm. Brilliant day even with low visibility all day hard frost and frozen ground above about 550m.SteveSmith23/01/2017
Repeat, up from Birkhill and Herman Law to Capel Fell with Jenx and Steve Smith. Crisp, misty day on fells with frozen ground, reasonable going on existing lines. Down to Sailfoot Fish Farm and second vehicle.nordicstar23/01/2017

A clear sunny day on the final day of a stay in Moffat. Left car with Martin66 near Birkhill & followed signposted walkers route through soft snow to start with & then patchier harder snow higher up to summit of Herman Law. Then fine gentle ridge walk over Trowgrain Middle, Mid Rig, Andrewhinney Hill, Bell Craig, the second Mid Rig, Nowtrig Head & finally Bodesbeck Law. By now a long way from the car, we reversed the route back as far as the col to the NE of Bell Craig & made a long slanting descent back to the road & walked the last 1.5km along the road in the gathering darkness. Easy but rewarding walk.NotReallyABagger02/12/2012
CUHWC Southern Uplands Trip. Linear walk again from Solcoth - Grey Mare's Tail Waterfall via tickable things en route. Weather poor most of day. Descent from Andrewhinney Hill to road is not recommended - best described as horrific...AGWilliamson25/11/2012

KHWC walk, J leading; P 0.2km SW of Birkhill on A708 then took rising traverse path S from B, around W&S of Trowgrain Middle to bealach, turned R and followed fence SW over Mid Rig to summit of AH - third visit. Damp day, with breeze. Returned to bealach, then over TM to Herman Law and down to B. Reccy took place on 22/01/2011 - second visit; returned on reversed upward route. First visit was on 10/03/2007 with the Beatties, J ill, parking at Grey Mare's Tail and walking up road to B then ascent as described for third visit; descent directly NW to GMT parking was considered but omitted because of steepness and v. wet ground, instead reversing upward route.trienbrae05/02/2011
AH was originally climbed with the Beatties on 10/03/2007 and repeated on the date given here by J and I walking from P at Grey Mare's Tail up road to farm and onto uphill path, direct to AH; descent was made by reversing uphill outward route. A third ascent was made with KHWC two weeks later, on 05/02/2011, by parking on a high lay-by and using the uphill path to AH but returning over Towgrain Middle and Herman Law before dropping to farm and A708.jacobus22/01/2011
