Up the track from Llyn Celyn, 'standard' route. Drifting snow near the top made for hard going. The heather really is deep up there... | Rockdoctor | 22/01/2023 |

Second Nuttall over the weekend. Getting up to the previous pass and across the valley was a horrendous, scratchy heather bash! | andrewroberts | 24/09/2022 |

13.5 miles 2928ft walk. Arenig Fach, Llechwedd-Llyfn, Carnedd Y Filiast and Waun Garnedd-Y-Filiast. | stephenbuda | 28/05/2022 |
Parked at the dam for an anti-clockwise round of the five Tumps and two Nuttalls. Some really rough terrain on the eastern tops. I'd do this walk again anti-clockwise, but you'd have to pay me a lot of money to do it clockwise. | Minto | 27/05/2022 |
Park by Llyn Celyn, track to Carnesd Ffiliast from South. Along ridge west to then ascend Arenig Fach, back down to NW corner of Llyn Celyn and back to car | andrew.morel | 02/05/2022 |
From Llyn Celyn | Gwastadros | 05/03/2022 |
Not the best day to go up, very windy and foggy at the top could hardly see 5m in front of me. Tried to walk up to Waun Garnedd-y-filiast but it was too boggy for approach shoes so we turned back. | Buckleymon | 03/02/2022 |
With K from Llyn Celyn, included Brottos (626m) & returned via same route due to poor weather | Fabioski | 01/02/2022 |
From layby alongside Llyn Celyn via the good track which takes you all the way to within 300 metres of the top from where a path takes you the rest of the way in 5 minutes. A good circular stone wind break around the trig point which was handy on a windy day. Some snow falling on the way down to add to the small amount already on the ground. | dickscroop | 05/01/2022 |
Llyn Celyn - Foel-boeth - Waun Garnedd-y-filiast - Carnedd y Filiast - Carnedd Llechwedd-llyfn - Arenig Fach - Llyn Celyn. | Mark Jackson | 25/10/2021 |
Nuttall walk cut short, saving Arenig Fach for another day. | Dan Baddeley | 23/10/2021 |
From a layby on the A4212 next to Llyn Celyn: Foel-boeth, Waun Garnedd-y-Filiast, Carnedd y Filiast, Carnedd llechwedd-Llfyn and Arnig Fach. Never again- this is one for hardened holl-baggers only. Miles and miles of stumbling through pathless heather. | Lazylizzie | 30/08/2021 |
From first layby on East Side of the Lyn Celyn North arm. Clockwise circuit over high tops and the little one by the road which was a heather slog lower down when one was of tracks. | vegibagger | 14/07/2021 |
2nd of 3 Marilyns, from the South, also bagging Foel-boeth on the descent. Wet feet crossing the Nant y Coed after previous night's rain. | NormanW | 24/05/2021 |
A nice round of hills in lovely weather from the parking area on A4212. First Marilyn for a long time. | Alan Caine | 17/04/2021 |

Parked at Celyn reservoir for a round of 6 summits: Foel-boeth, Carnedd Llechwedd-llyfn, Carnedd y Filiast, Waun Garnedd-y-Filiast, Craig yr Hafod, Graig Ddu. Tracks and paths for the first 4, rough going for the final 2. | PGCE | 05/02/2021 |
Parked to N of Llyn Celyn. Pleasant mossy path through the woods. Very boggy around Nant Hafod-Fadog requiring a small detour. Large cows near Cwm Hesgyn but they left us alone. Easy walking using the track to the summit. With whole family and the Thompsons | RoguePulsar | 19/09/2020 |
It was very windy at the top and there was a shelter of stone went with whole family and the Thompsons. | speedyclimber | 19/09/2020 |
After Arenig Fach. Long bog-trot next to fence, improved by nice weather – if windy. | Rounsfell | 17/09/2020 |

From Ysbyty Ifan. Interesting summit | JamesD1972 | 14/05/2018 |
From start of bridleway up from Llyn Celym, easy as far as Boeth, then tried to avoid track deviation and reascent by direct ascent of SW face, which was carpeted in thick and soft mossy heather covering leg twistingly uneven terrain. | Topographer57 | 05/05/2018 |
Llyn Celyn through forest to footpath via Nant-y-Coed to Waun Garnedd-y-Filiast to Carnedd y Filiast to Carnedd Llechwedd-llyfn to Arenig Fach. Descend via east ridge to Llyn Celyn. Clear weather, but cold and windy. Saw nobody all day. Walked solo. Once past Carnedd y Filiast, the route was mainly pathless and very rough going ... bogs and tussock grass! Arenig Fach a nice wild mountain with a fine corrie tarn, though the others were rather forgettable lumps! | jamessteel100 | 05/04/2018 |
An easy walk made challenging by nasty weather, sleet turning to heavy rain, and windy. Good parking at the bridleway/forest track that leads up over the shoulder of Foel Boeth, then a surprisingly long way down to the ford over the Nant y Coed, and then up onto the hill, and all the way to the summit. No worries about the mist, the navigation is a doddle. | Gill | 26/11/2017 |

With Talisker whist Wasdale & Duddon MRT undertake SRT practice | Mountain Goat | 07/10/2017 |
Cycled over from Blaenau train station and then proceeded to bag Pen Garneddwen and Foel Boeth before coming up here. Got caught out a little bit by the quite considerable reascent on the track off the moors and as a knock on result I ended up missing the train home from Betws by just five minutes. Decided to keep going and cycled back the remainder of the way to Llandudno. Oh, and when I eventually arrived at Carmen Silva Road Maria was waiting for me with all my bags packed and swiftly proceeded to give me the elbow :(. Still, at the end of the day, it was a particularly fine walk and I enjoyed it really very much. | Twice Shy | 28/09/2017 |
With Val in wet conditions and no view. Parked at car park at LLyn Celyn dam. Trouble following footapths to start but got onto the track to Cwm Hesgyn and a good track almost to summit. Returned same route until Cwm Hesgyn then had more problems following route to road. | mike.hoult | 11/08/2017 |
