Solo from Wasdale Head village green. Lingmell from the col, then Scafell Pike. Something I've been putting off for 40 odd years. Naturally a very busy day with lot's of lovely people about and a small contingent of the deeply inconsiderate as would be expected. Found a few grassy sections on the way back down to Lingmell col which I'd missed due to watching where every step would land on the way up. These were a blessing. Crossed to the path down from shoulder of Lingmell. Lovely views and grassy with only one tough gravelly bit. I recommend it if you've had enough of crowds and endless stone steps.nukeboy119/07/2023

Stayed at the NDG so cycled to the ODG to save some time. Walked along part of the Cumbria Way then steeply up and over at Rosset Pike and up to Esk Hause. Then the long slog through the boulders to the summit. Fortunately the early cloud cleared and we reached the summit in hazy sunshine. Good that we did this during the week as not too many people on the mountain.pclyndes22/05/2023

Staying at High House, Seathwaithe on an Ochils Mountaineering Club trip. We headed up to Glaramara first, into the mist, then along ridge toward Scafell Pike. By the time we got to Lincomb Tarns the mist had burned off and it was blue skies with light wind thereafter. We went over Allen Crags, Great End, Ill Crag and Broad Crag. Finishing on Scafell Pike and returned via the corridor route, 09:55hrs. We started off as a group of six, but Nicky & Linda turned off before Allen Crags (Linda hadn't been hillwalking in a while), Sharon decided to include Sca Fell as well, while Michael, Simon and I (cowardly) returned to High House.chillyman824/09/2022

Woke up at 4:00am, arrived at Wasdale Head by 6:00am, and headed up the mountain during sunrise. Walked up the main path, and then turned off after Brown Tongue towards Lords Rake starting point. Very sketchy going up the scree below Lords Rake, very loose. Reached Lords Rake by 8:30 and slowly and steadly headed up Lords Rake. Was very satisfied after the first up, and took it in as much as I could. Then, walked up to the top of Symonds Knott and Scafell before heading down Foxes Rake. Then, head up more scree too Mickledore, and finally turned in the direction too Scafell Pike. Endeavour finally completed the last of the 48 ceremonial county tops of England and headed back down more scree, followed the east of Piers Gill and back into the valley too Wasdale Head.DavidHiner31/08/2022
