From Honister Pass. W/TH & Teddy. The warning in Wainwright is correct re the descent to Beck Head (Great Gable 22) - avoid the scree runs on the west side if possible, but the path down the angle of the west & north faces is difficult to locate in mist. We ended up on the worn out scree runs, so not sure what the other path is like. | Sedge | 01/03/2023 |

11.1 mile walk from Honister Pass. Followed good path towards Green Gable with a brief diversion onto Brandreth's Summit then followed path onto Green Gable, then followed horrible scree-covered path down to Windy Gap col. From here ascending Great Gable over rocks and boulders to summit. Had the top to ourselves, it was only about 9.30am though. From Great Gable we descended path back to Windy Gap and followed Moses's Trod towards Haystacks following trail near Seavey Knott to summit. From summit we followed main path by Little Round How and then followed hard-to-find trail onto Fleetwith Pike, descending back to Honister and car. 1186m ascent. Clear with high cloud cover, amazing views. Saw quite a lot of people on Haystacks, not many others elsewhere! | DanTrig | 15/06/2021 |

Solo, running fr Seathwaite, cloudless morning but sunshine somehow ruddy, all hills look parched and golden, like Arizona not Cumbria. Still a great place to be - not too windy, too cold or too hot! Stunning pictures. | NorfolkPT21 | 15/04/2021 |
