Staying at the OMC Cottage, I did Stob a' Choire Odhair (945m) & Stob Ghabhar (1090m) today with Dave Morgan. Two munros bringing my total to 198 out of 282 now.

We started in darkness, around 07:45, when the car dashboard said it was -9C. We walked out in darkness with headtorches on, arriving back at the car for 17:50, a really big day.

The inversion was awesome | chillyman8 | 02/12/2023 |
A long 25 mile walk based around the two munros Stob a' Choire Odhair and Stob Ghabhar. I detoured to Beinn Toaig going up, visited Aonach Eagach on route and then had a walk around Sron nan Giubhas, Stob Ghabhar North Top, Aonach Mor, Creag a' Bhealaich, Sron a' Ghearrain and Stob a' Bhruaich Leith and then detoured to visit Meall an Araich on the way down, walking out via Clashgour Farm and down the valley. Every summit had completely different views and was worth visiting in it's own right, a very enjoyable day on the mountains. Notes: Took the main path from Stob a' Choire Odhair. Very scenic. /D | meltdiceburg | 17/06/2023 |

Walked from Victoria Bridge up Stob a'Choire Odhair on a dry but grey day. Quite warm and windless. Ideal walking weather. Followed that up with an ascent of Stob Ghabhar and then back down via the waterfall. The route up Stob Ghabhar from Coirean Lochain side seemed too steep, loose and crumbling for a safe descent. | honey badger | 17/09/2017 |
Circuit of Black Mount Munros. From parking on A82 by Loch Ba, track westwards to West Highland Way, then south along WHW until about 1km S of Ba Bridge, then directly up Beinn Toaig, continuing on to Stob a' Choire Odhair, Stob Ghabhar, descent to N/NW on Aonach Mor, turning NE to bealach and then up Clach Leathad and N to Creise, returned to 1070 spot height and followed ridge down and up to Meall a'Bhuiridh, E along ridge, and descended directly down to WHW via Ba Cottage, and along track to A82 | kdbennett | 13/08/2017 |
From Victoria Bridge via Clashgour Hut. A circuit of Stob a'Choire Odhair, Aonach Eagach, Stob Ghabhar, Sron nan Giubhas, Sron a'Ghearrain and Stob a'Bruaich Leith. The lower reaches were a holiday home for marshwiggles after recent rain, but the ridgewalking is magnificent, and the views superlative. | Nick Down1 | 12/08/2017 |

Solo fr Forest Lodge, d 5:40pm, summit 7:30pm, car 9:20pm; even downhill, running was so cautious as to be no faster than walking really. But more fun! Clouds cleared enough for some good views from the summit, incl first panoramic video w iPhone. | NorfolkPT21 | 08/07/2015 |
Continuation of walk from Stob a'Choire Odhair. Descended west to bealach at Pt. 668m, then steeply up near Couloir Buttress onto Aonach Eagach. The followed fine ridge round to summit. To descend, we retraced our steps for some 450m and down Stob Maol Ridge. Path very steep, eroded and dangerous over Creag an Steallaire near waterfalls. There must be a better and safer line further south. Then crossed Allt Toaig to rejoin our outward route. With JK. | Man of Kernow1 | 04/10/2014 |

Done as a walk from Stob a'Choire Odhair. This makes a really good mountain ridge route. Pleasant and well defined to the bealach, a curving spur up to the ESE face of Stob Ghabhar, then a narrow ridge (it is called Aonach Eagach) up to the summit, all in top mountain scenery. On a beautiful sunny day with a few fluffy clouds, I decided to add an extra summit to the day- Stob a'Bhruaich Leith (qv). Today's walk would be a cracking introduction to the Munros for a confident mountain walker familiar with Snowdonia and the Lake District. | pwheeler | 03/06/1989 |

Cairngorm Club meet at Bridge of Orchy. With fellow club members. From Victoria Bridge. We walked along the track via Linne nam Beathach. Then up the true right side of Allt Toaig and on to the SE Ridge of Stob Ghabhar. At about NN235450 we stopped due to severe wind. Some returned but three of us continued after some hesitation, taking a line to SW of ridge (ie below ridge) following fence posts, to avoid being blown over the edge. Severe gusts forced one to stop in a crouched position. Hail and snow. The summit of Stob Gabhar was reached. The descent was via the outward route, conditions easing. | pwbellarby | 10/10/1981 |

Ascended from Inveroran heading for Kingshouse in good weather. Ascended on five further occasions. One of these was in snowy, cloudy conditions when I was joined by another walker to cross to Kingshouse 29/03/1983. Step counting needed to find Bealach Fuar-chathaidh. Ascended 25/10/1993 through a grey inversion to incredible views above about 800m. | JohnW | 01/09/1976 |

Went up the lovely stalker's path, up from Clashgour Hut. A lovely way in, and then up the side of the corrie to a super top - but one which for my money has stiff competition from the neighbouring and lower Stob Coire Odhar. | spstrachan | blank |
